You know you really need to remember what you have said in previous posts if you're going to tell porkies, and post things purely to suit your agenda. Because on your post number 20, you said...
You said you were CLOSE to quitting, which means YOU STILL SMOKE.
Whoops. Again, must try harder 'Guest101;' you're slipping. :rotfl:
Oh and DON'T put your responses in the body of my message; it makes it look like you are trying to make out YOU didn't say it.
Still get cravings, so I've not quit. Don't smoke though.
Ignoring my comment amount illegal eviction?
I'll reply in the way I see fit. Thanks.0 -
I dont allow smoking in my house, I never did when I was renting either, back when I did smoke. I remembered what it was like as a child, with streaming eyes trying to avert the thick fog that turned the net curtains and walls into a sticky yellow colour.
If people choose to smoke in their own home, that is their prerogative as it should be.
Visitors to my property have the opportunity to smoke outside, where I have even included a shelter for them should it be raining. but there is a strict no smoking policy in my house.
I liken the renting scenario akin to a hire car. If the terms state no smoking inside, I would see it as no big deal to restrain myself until I go outside.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

This thread is very like the one where people insisted that shoes be removed before entering the house.
Some people are so awfully intolerant.
I wouldn't want to visit them at all.
Come on over to my house..... you can keep your shoes on, smoke away and enjoy yourself.
I have a vacuum cleaner and I can open a few windows. It's not that difficult.
I am not precious at all. x0 -
The issue with smoking is that it's not just the smoker who is affected by it. If I drink a couple of glasses of wine, it's my liver that has to process the alcohol, nobody else suffers from passive drinking. When someone smokes, people around them end up passive smoking. Remember the late Roy Castle, never smoked in his life and died of lung cancer due to passive smoking.
It's one of the reasons I don't allow people to smoke in my home and I am much happier going since the smoking ban as my hair no longer reeks of cigarette smoke when I get home.0 -

A couple of glasses of buckfast, and there could be a few people 'affected'!!0 -

Taking your health seriously and finding the smell of smoke disgusting is not being intolerant.
I'm not "precious" about my home at all, I like it when people stay and make themselves comfortable. What I would object to though, is my guests attempting to fill my lungs with toxic fumes. Considering that they are supposed to like or even love me, I don't see why they would attempt to do so.
Fortunately my friends, along with my husband, are not that selfish.0 -

Ah we all need to lighten up, and not be so precious
I suppose, like me, you drive a car and all that?
Do you ever feel bad about polluting pedestrians and cyclists with the emissions from your vehicle?
I do, but then again, I don't dictate what people do in my house. But others dictate what they must tolerate outside their own house!0 -

And I wouldn't WANT you at my house. Nothing more repugnant than a selfish 'entitled to' smoker who doesn't give a FIG about how their stinky vile habit affects others.
By the way, wanting someone to take off their shoes and not wanting someone to SMOKE are two completely different things. It's hilarious that you compare the two!
The smokers are really clutching at straws to justify their foul habit. It's laughable.Still get cravings, so I've not quit. Don't smoke though.

PMSL :rotfl: You make it up as you go along don't you?!!
Oh and by the way, to all the smokers who are DESPERATELY trying to make themselves feel better about their foul habit: NO! I DON'T have a car. I don't drive. I walk and cycle everywhere.
Again, must try harder. especially as many of you smokers tend to drive as WELL as smoke! Losing the argument somewhat eh? :rotfl:cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -

Hi there.
I sense command and control there! I am not a smoker, never was, but I don't mind at all when visitors come.
It's not every day, and they go outside anyway, but are given the option no strings attached. When its chucking down they love me!
Why are you so angry anyway? Just got that in your post. No need really.
Your username is very apt though lol!0 -
