They are a troll because they dared to disagree with you?!0 -
I was being sincere. Their posts are far more balanced than some other people here0

Not one single bit in my post indicates that I am a self centred individual. Better try harder than that mate.
Thank you for proving my point though. That some smokers are selfish and self centred.
You are typical of many smokers. Only think about YOU and YOUR needs and to hell with everyone else.
- Ironic since i've quit smoking...
I would have had you out of my property in a few seconds. OUT you go! - That would be a neat trick. Ever heard of illegal eviction?
Hell would freeze over before I would be in a relationship with a smoker. Gross habit. Definite deal breaker.
.... I wasnt asking you out0 -

I'm not naive. people meeting me for the first time have told me that there is no smell lingering. Washing your clothes is an overreaction and no way does your underwear smell! 👙
How odd that people comment to you on their first meet about you not smelling of smoke. Not the usual subject of a conversation with a stranger.

And I have to take issue with the poster who is insisting her husband has absolutely no smell of smoke on him - ever. He even smokes in the house too, and she is still denying that he and the house stink of smoke! I don't believe for a split millisecond that he doesn't stink to high heaven of smoke. This poster must have been brainwashed or conditioned to believe she cannot smell it. Either that, or she has ZERO sense of smell, because no way in a million years does that man not smell of smoke, and she can deny it til she is blue in the face: nobody believes her.
Also, she says that she would never ask him to not smoke in his 'own home,' but any kind of a decent person would not need to be asked to leave the house to have a cigarette, they would just do it. It's incredibly selfish of him to not leave the house to have a cigarette. I sincerely hope he never smoked around any children.
.
He never smokes around children but this is his home and he shouldn't be made to be an outcast for doing something which is legal! 😬
It may seem normal to smoke outside to you but we are of a generation where it was the norm to smoke in shops, restaurants etc.How odd that people comment to you on their first meet about you not smelling of smoke. Not the usual subject of a conversation with a stranger.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Yes, I thought this strange too. :rotfl:....Ironic since I've quit smoking...
You know you really need to remember what you have said in previous posts if you're going to tell porkies, and post things purely to suit your agenda. Because on your post number 20, you said...After which eviction and possibly some post deposit.
I've smoked in most rented properties. Only once had an issue, but it wasn't on the tenancy agreement. Though I've now stopped ( or close to )
You said you were CLOSE to quitting, which means YOU STILL SMOKE.
Whoops. Again, must try harder 'Guest101;' you're slipping. :rotfl:
Oh and DON'T put your responses in the body of my message; it makes it look like you are trying to make out YOU didn't say it.cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -
Some of the responses so far are worse than I ever thought rational beings would say.
I personally think the Smoking Nazis are projecting other frustrations, and using smoking as a means to vent those frustrations. Wasn't that way years ago and we got on fine.
Some of the posts are irrational, and totally over the top.
I don't smoke, but I can tell you all now, that if someone is welcomed into my home they can smoke away if they want. They go outside though usually, but that is their choice.
I don't care about smoke smells. I care about making people welcome, and if they are invited, they can smoke if they wish.
It's only for a short while after all.
TOLERANCE seems to be in very short supply these days. Maybe it's because certain people want to control others?0 -

It may be for some, for myself and my family it is due to health, when I inspect our property I shouldn't have to compromise my health, if someone smokes indoors everyone is effectively smoking which is the biggest problem, and far worse than the damage it will cause on a property.
My uncle smoked in his house, the colour of the walls was disgusting and he decorated every year! Inflicted it on his poor kids as well, we wouldn't allow an adult to force a child to take any other drugs so it should not be legal to force them to breathe in fag smoke.
Not wanting your health damaged is not a lack of tolerance, it is basic common sense.0 -

I actually agree with you, concerning your health.
But a lot of people who go ape over smoking drive cars, emit pollution left right and centre, eat crap food, drink wine (cos that's ok as long as it's not pints down the pub), and so on and on and on.
Get a grip, and a bit of tolerance goes a long way.
No one is perfect, we must remember that.0
