This is a tiny part of a huge site, run by very few people; I doubt they have time to justify their censorship. In memory of Chris Hyde #8670 -
This isn't taking into account the fact that whoever it was can easily come back under a new user-name.. That's the internet for you, - you can ban an ID but it's nigh-on impossible to ban a person.
Actually it is pretty easy to ban someone by recording their IP address, unless of course they are using a VPN0 -
Because the person isn't able to speak up for themselves.A_Flock_Of_Sheep wrote: »So why can't we discuss a person who has been PPR'd? This is Discussion Time after all.Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

If it broke the forum rules. Why do they need to explain it?
Perhaps because lots of other things on here break 'the rules', but absolutely nothing is done about it?
So an explanation of which of the rules are OK to break, and which are not OK to break, might be helpful all round.

What do you have to do to get PPR'd on here? Do you have to post something really offensive?0

No, you have to post something the hysterical harpies don't like, then they report posts en masse until the person gets banned.fairy_lights wrote: »What do you have to do to get PPR'd on here? I think they can use getproxy, or even T.o.r. if they're keen..
But I get the impression MSE don't bother banning IP addresses unless it's a hardcore serial troll/pest. I can only think of one on here who's had to go to those lengths. Most of the time they just come back under a new name. All you need to register on here is an email addy, which of course can be created in minutes.0 -

Not necessarily.
You could just become the target of one of the cliques of report-button pushers.0 -
The censorship in MSE is a major reason why I rarely come back, let alone comment. Seems you can rip the wee-wee out of the less fortunate to your heart's content, but criticise the thought police here and you are in trouble.
There are posters that I really disagree with on many aspects - I wouldn't want any of them banned - better to see what they post, and if you think it's drivel and if so motivated, argue against it. That's what I was looking for when I joined here years ago.
