Sorry, but I think you sound horrible and arrogant. Especially the way in which you attack other people who presented valid points.

Looking for a partner is not as pragmatic as this.

You really need to open your eyes and re read the thread since I responded to ONE person who was obviously trolling.

Note my other responses 'fair point, 'good point', 'yes I'm trying meet up', 'thanks' etx

Stop over analysing and being over sensitive.

    Apology accepted

Ps thanks to everyone else for contributing and the continued discussion

That depends how easy it is for you to get those 30/40 miles.
I had a women write to me on PoF who lives about 35mls away. We swapped messages and she seemed nice but i don't like driving more than local. Now only last night she wrote again 'cos we hadn't talked for a few weeks.

    35 miles is pretty local!

I find this kind of language quite rude btw.
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

You find it rude? I think you're prude, but I'm not taking issue with that.
I won't apologise if you think it's rude since its your problem.
Just as you won't apologise for your oh ye enlightened one remarks. So no need for you to further respond. Stop being so sensitive and oh so prudishly British on a forum. There are real big bad people out there.

Thank to the rest - signed up to a couple more meets and generally taking a step back from trying to get dates.

You seem to have an attitude in some of your posts to be fair. I received an unnecessary (!) from you for nothing other than offering a suggestion.

I'd say you just need to keep trying really, but realise that the more 'criteria' you lay down, the less people will match them, and the longer your 'search' will take. Even when you find someone who 'matches', they may not click with you. You seem to be putting a lot of pressure on yourself sadly

So, do you want it to be a numbers game, or relax your geographic limitations? I doubt geography is the issue if you live in a big city; but the 'dating pool' does gradually get smaller as you get older; so you're going to need to do things locally 'in real life' if you want to find a local girl.

Do they still do speed-dating evenings, or have apps killed that off? Sorry, I met my wife on an online dating site, but that was about 10 years ago when it was all a bit new

    Good luck anyway

What kind of comment is this..... it's got nothing to do with cultural interpretation, the OP is just rude.

You do realise that rude and prude aren't synonymous, don't you?
