How are minimum wage workers supposed to save 10k. Also SMI is time limited and doesn't pay the whole mortgage just part of the interest.

    https://www.gov.uk/support-for-mortgage-interest/what-youll-get.

    Have I missed something?

Simple maths - can't pay the mortgage - no help from the government = repossession = rental property = claim housing benefit!

As for insurance I agree, but it should also be compulsory for those in rental properties also!

No SMI & No Housing Benefit - what a fantastic way in cutting the Welfare bill.

Much like no Contents Insurance - no claim paid.
As I have said before it should also be complulsory to have a level of savings to cope with the unexpected thereby avoiding having to claim ESA or JSA. Maybe £10,000 as a minimum.
it was in response to this.

You have at least £10,000 in savings Billy, as does your wife. But you still expected to be awarded PIP. There is no difference the way I see it.

Dont forget the car that was dragged from his grasping hands, but that was not a benefit as he did not get the money ....Independent what ? Care to share your vision of your policy dreamer ?
You're a clown and as with most clowns a very sad one. Keep quiet and move on please.

I don't have any savings. I actually don't own a damn thing! Not even a part owner of our home.

Yes I had hoped to get the government to recognize the difficulties I have and how they affect my life, even though I continue to work at a high level of responsibility with no pay or expenses paid.

You have stated you don't need your state pension of £200 per week and are in receipt of 6 pension payments per month, so why on earth would you need PIP?

Billy, you sais -There is no need to pay a state pension to someone who is clearly able to fund their lifestyle out of their own investments/private pensions etc.

Billy, you said - Hence why I believe that the State Pension should be paid according to financial need and NOT entitlement.

Also, if I remember it correctly, wasn't your father a multi-millionaire? Surely he left you some of his millions?

Let's hope they raise the personal tax allowance as promised. I've benefited from the many increases the Tories have given us, don't claim any benefits, pay for my own home so benefit cuts are not going to affect me.

    Not all doom and gloom!
