perhaps you should price up the cost for a family of 4 flying business return to florida.
That 10k would not even cover the airfare, let alone accommodation, food and drink and park entry.
flights tomorrow for 10 days come to £11,156.640 -

I would disagree, you claim £200 per week in state pension, that you do not need and only claim it because you are entitled. If you don't need it and you are not greedy, why claim it?
Saying that, you can't have any idea of how the SRP works. Of course I could not claim it. But what happens then? It doesn't get written off, you simply can't say you do not want it.
In fact it starts to roll up with or without your permission. At sometime in the future that rolled up sum that is being held by the government on your behalf is paid out - sometimes to the Executor of you estate if you die!
You simply cannot just 'get rid' of the entitlement.0 -

yep you can, the pension goes into your account and you can donate it to the charity of your choice ( you can even gift aid it if you still pay tax)0 -

What field? I worked in the city as well. I know quite a few professionals especially from the banking and equities side of things.0 -

You don't need your pension, why not put it to the entire board what you should do with it.0
