Ex wants loan in my address

Sounds bizarre that they won't take his name off the tenancy. Is it his house (officially) or are you in a joint tenancy?
The following is from the Gosport council website. Possibly it's the same everywhere.
Just to add, Ive had a police officer go in and demand they do it but they said they can't (or won't) Its Sedgemoor council. My option was to move and be rehomed but I really didn't want to do that. My mum and family is in this village and I moved back here to be near them.0 -
Maybe go for the court order, then? Sounds like he's already in the criminal system if he's had an order banning him from going round to your place. I'd change the locks, too!!
I've had the locks changed. I'm scared to go through the court, theres a lot more going on I don't want to go into but its not really an option.0 -
If he's on the tenancy, then he's entitled to have his post sent to that address.
he's also entitled to live there.
Since you rent, the loan is clearly unsecured. So it cant come back on you.
The chances of bailiffs turning up are slim. If they do, - "he doesnt live here."
You could be making life alot more complicated by returning post, he phone sup asking and they say it was returned to us 'not at this address'0 -

Good for them
The police know nothing about tenancies and whilst its obviously not good that it's not worked out for you, the police have no right to demand someone is removed from a legal right to reside without a court order.0 -

The police are morons.
Ofcourse he's allowed. He could come with a locksmith and move straight in.
'Breaching the peace' - what a joke of a police force.0 -
I just don't know what to do. Obviously I'll leave the tenancy issue as my original issue is of him getting this loan, he said he will apply for it and as soon as he has moved he will change the address on the loan.
He said he will take his name off the tenancy as he will have to (he can't have his name on a council house and another house) - My huge issue is with the fact he is a compulsive liar and a gambler.. Obv I want him to move on and part of that is him getting his own place etc.. but he can't be trusted.0 -
Is the problem that they have contacted him to ask him about his name being removed and he has refused?
Surely there is a way to do it, you really need to get to the bottom of what it is you need to do to remove his name and don't take 'you can't' as an answer as it isn't.
As for the post, I agree. Send it back. He doesn't live there. He might have his name on the lease, but that doesn't mean he lives there. He has an address, he lives at his parents, so why does he need to use yours? Oh, and get your car back and stop doing what he says because of his threats.0 -

I can't get him removed from the tenancy, the council won't do it as 'its a legal document' Ive tried everythingHe wanted the loan so he can rent a house and furnish it. he is living with his parents at the mo.
If you are separated -yes you can- Go talk to Shelter for advice.
Perhaps if he wants to rent a house (for one person?) he should do what everyone else does and saves up. He's not paying rent at the moment presumably - what about child support?
Frankly there's no good reason why he can't apply for credit at his new address ....so the obvious question is why does he want to use your address.
You aren't with him anymore so why are you letting him push you around ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

It's funny how things can go missing in the post and never get delivered, and then have to be re-sent which can provide enough time for someone to speak to their local Womens Aid..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

So you are so scared of him you are going to continue to let him dictate to you?
Please speak to Women's Aid who will not only support you but also get you decent legal advice.
Sounds like he bullied you when you lived with him and you are continuing to let him do so now he's left you. What kind of example are you setting your children. ?
Stop making excuses for him and get rid properly - get a restraining order and stop him using your car too. If he wants to see the kids and you are scared of him then there are ways for him to see them without you having to deal with him.
