I then read on this site about mis-sold PPIs and knew that we had definitely been mis-sold this policy as a] my husband is self-employed and b] we couldn't even remember ticking any box regarding PPI!! I copied part of Martin Lewis's letter and sent it to Cahoot who dismissed it out of hand but they did direct me to Santandar who had taken over the company. I then emailed the letter to Santandar and they replied immediately saying they would investigate and within a couple of weeks they sent a letter agreeing to my complaint and offered us almost £3,000. If you are being fobbed off don't get disheartened. Keep going. How many people don't realise that they are being ripped off? They must be making a fortune out of this racket. Don't let them get away with it.
Thanks Martin

I received a letter today from Lloyds stating they are refunding all my PPI of £771.42 plus 8% interest. The loan is with their Debt Recovery Department so unfortunately won't see any of it but it helps towards paying the loan off so can't really complain. I only sent them first letter on 22nd May so was resolved extremely quickly by Lloyds standards. Thanks again MSE - I couldn't have done it without you!.If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.;)0

Hi all
I sent a letter to Black Horse in April to try to reclaim PPI back from two loans I had with them. On the day their eight weeks were up I received a reply about one of the loans and although they believe that we weren't missold the PPI they are paying me back £3200 :T(£952 of which is interest). :j I am so very happy as this will start to clear some of our debts. I am waiting for another letter about the other claim. Fingers crossed it is good news aswell!
Thank you Martin for all the info you supply and to 'di3004' and 'amersall' for your help and encouragement :beer:0 -

i echo what di says, you should give them a ring and tell them you would like the interest refunding to you.If you had not taken ppi you would not be out of pocket with this interest.
And they were "quick" because they are taking the money and not giving it back to you,bet the money is off the loan already!!.by the way have you asked them about the loan being reduced by the actual ppi amount? as you will benefit from that and your loan will decrease .
Ask them for figures of the loan without ppi just to make certain, as i wouldnt put it past them to "cook the books" with this, ask them for a balance on this loan and make sure the amount you owe is reduced by the ppi and you will know for certain.0 -

find out what the progress is with the second loan, as i have done 2 loans with barclays for a friend of mine, she got 2 paid back but one was not even what she was claiming for!! but i have had to write another letter about one of the original claims as they closed the book on this complaint, so check up on yours.
By the way are either of these loans still running? if they are make sure they are reset without ppi and same term and interest and that your payment has reduced x0 -

Hi Amersall
Both loans have been repaid so nothing outstanding with them. :j
I did phone Black Horse and ask them about the other loan when I received the offer letter for the first one
(i've got no patience!! :rotfl:)and they said that it is being dealt with seperately but we should hear within 7 days. So hopefully this time next week we will know what is happening with the other one.
I've sent back the signed acceptance (by recorded delivery) but they did tell me that we would have to wait 8 weeks before they pay outbut at least we know it is on it's way. :T
