PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Just to say we managed after many months to get our PPI costs back from M&S/ Allianz, it takes time 6/7 month in our case but it was worth it.0

I guess I'd just like to give some hope to others like myself who have been re-claiming PPI from LTSB. I'd gone through the whole letters thing; rejected of course, and then went to the FOS.
The FOS sent me a new questionnaire - they wanted more details etc. Filling out the questionnaire can take some time, I'd started on mine when out of the blue they wrote to me saying that LTSB would be refunding me in full for mis-sold PPI. This was in May, the FOS said I should wait about 3 months due to the high level of complaints LTSB have received.
I have no idea what caused LTSB to finally play nice ... but I'm looking forward to the cash!!0 -

Well good luck to you anyway, and I'm sure the FOS will see this in your favour, believe me the amounts of complaints they have actually upheld against this bank - you will be okay.:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Having used the template letters and tailoring them to suit my circumstances I got a reply a few weeks after the first letter saying the person I wrote to didn't have the authority to make a decision, but will pass it onto the correct team. I waited another 2 weeks then wrote letter number 2 giving them 14 days to respond, this then prompted a good responce. I received a letter from them saying that the case has been looked into by a big boss person there and my complaint is being upheld. I had to sign an agreement / permission slip for them to investigate the past history of my account so they can calculate the correct PPI repayment, also had to tell them where I wanted the money paying into. After another two weeks and a phone call to them to rattle their cage a bit, I received a letter today (14 weeks after starting the procedure) saying there will be a payment going into my credit card account to the sum of £4,391.80 WOOHOO!!! Just a couple of letters and a lot of patience and look what can be achieved. YEAH BABY!! Do it...... You know you want to.
Fantastic result.
I hope they gave you a break down of the premiums plus interest.
Make sure that the give you all the refund that you are entitled to.
From what you have said, your refund offer equates to a refund of about 5 years premium plus interest.0 -
Hi Di,
Bit ironic really isnt it.
Mike Fletch is resolved in 14 weeks.
I am just about to start my 143rd week!!0 -
Thankyou Martin you are saving lives here on this site. Followed your instructions on how to reclaim PPI`S. Sent of the letter with all the details and got a response back from BARCLAYCARD saying that they will look into it and it could take a month. So i thought well lets see what happens. So one month later got another letter saying that they would need another month to look into the case and they would need copies of all my statements proving i was paying PPI. So i was only too happy to comply i was paying this insurance all they way back in 2003. So i found what i could and sent that off. Got a letter back saying that i had a case and i was going to to get a cheque for £900 for the misselling of the PPI and the intrest on the charges i paid. But they were only going to pay back to 2006 as they didn`t have records that i had this plan since 2003. So after more serching for more statements i found some dated from 2003 so they got posted.
I have now just received my credit card statement and they have paid £1429.63 for the charges i paid and £763.43 in interest, total £2193.06 :T
The funny thing is that they havn`t even told me i was getting the money back i just noticed it on my credit card statement what a result:money:0 -
Just got a letter through today from GMAC saying confirming they have refunded the PPI on my car repayments, checked my account an have received £1112.58.
Last week I had received a letter saying that it was the dealership who I should contact so I did this week but GMAC must have took notice and took the decision. Thanks!!0 -
Well done to you.:mad:0
