PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I have had complete success on my PPI reclaim. Not only are they giving me back my premiums on PPI, plus interest at 8%, plus a good will refund. In short, as my loan has a 'short term remaining' - just over a year, the bank have said that; "we will now fully repay your loan meaning your account will close and you will have no further loan repayments to make".
Say what you will about BoS but that's some mighty amazing Good Will if you ask me!!0 -

i had been paying PPI on my Lloyds airmiles card for nealry 3 years without realising. I contacted Lloyds and put the wheels in motion. It took nearly 6 weeks. They finally wrote back saying thier file is incomplete (a little worrying) and it would only be fair to refund me. Im now wating for £697.00 to be paid into my account. That will go a long way to paying some debts back! RESULT!0

Ok I have had the news that HSBC have denied my claim for PPI on the following grounds.
First some back ground info
I took a 13,000 loan out in 2005 and had the PPI applied immediately and was told I must take this out as the loan was unsecured and it would help my loan approval. The PPI was approx 2.5k over the course of 5 years. The loan was used to pay off credit cards and other debts and was used immediately by the person in the bank to offset these debts.
In 2007 I consolidated this loan with an another in essence paying the first one off in full and then starting a new policy again with PPI which was actioned over the telephone. HSBC then sent me the paperwork through the post which I duly signed and returned.
I have tried unsuccessfully to claim both PPI insurance policies as HSBC are stating I signed for the PPI Insurance.
My issue is that I was not offered any loan without PPI, there was no cooling off period as the loan was to pay existing debts and they were paid immediately at the branch. As the loan was unsecured I was not given the opportunity to not have the PPI and all the paperwork was filled in by someone else and I was just asked to sign.
I have now forwarded everything to the FOS but am unsure if I will get anywhere....0 -

Hi there
Personally I think you have a good case here and I do feel as well the FOS will uphold in your favour.
Just a suggestion, but did you complain on each of the ppi that were mis sold to you separately?
If not you can do this.
Fingers crossed for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi,
I'm so happy! Received letter from Bank of Scotland today.:j
Re 3 of the loans they are paying me an amount which will put me back in the position I would have been had I not taken out the insurance.:j
Re my current loan with critical injury PPI, the complaint is upheld and again I will be put back to the position i would have been had I not taken out!:T
It has been forwarded to the redress team to complete the calculations and make payment within 14 days.
I really haven't got a clue how much I will get, but it will reduce my loan and hopefully my DFD.
Thanks to all on here for your inspiration & advice. I will keep you informed of how much & when the money arrives.
Thanks. MMmissmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Yes I did claim for both PPI's. I was hoping for a definite yes on the first as it was paid off by the second loan but I am worried that the second loan has gone to a debt management agency and is being paid via the CCCS.
My father in law had exactly the same scenario with his loan and HSBC have paid back all the PPI including interest but his loan was not in arrears.0 -
Provider: CAPITAL ONE
Amount Reclaimed:UNKNOWN (didn't get my statements)
Amount they paid:£316.13
The story:I rang capital one to ask when I had PPI and the dates it started and when I cancelled it. It was only 6 months worth apparently. I chanced my luck and said that it was mis-sold etc.
Got a great reply saying that I accepted PPI over the phone on a call from them. I know that I didn't and asked for proof/recording of call (This was back in 2001).
The reply says that they maintained that the PPI hadn't been mis-sold, but wish to bring the matter to a speedy conclusion and coughed up £229 in premiums, £6.30 in interest and £80.33 of 8% stat interest.
Cheque in 21 days!
Love DavidTOTAL 2013 £3100
TOTAL 2014 £1250
TOTAL 2015: £500 winning:2 tkts to theatre, Cap1 Footie, weeks holiday in lakes.0
