i have sent 3 letters regarding ppi now all based on the template letter, i spent £10 sending them registered delivery and now two months later i have recieved nearly 15000 back in total. Abbey national paid me £700 back because i had tried to cancel the ppi and been talked into keeping it, they admitted no responsiability but gave the money back as a goodwill gesture. Argos refunded £250 because they had no record of how the ppi was added to my account. The big one was picture finance. they added payment protection to our loan and told us we could not have a loan without it, although picture went bust the FCSC are on the case and they refunded all but £1000 of the original ppi amount. We are now waiting for a further cheque for £4000 as compensation for a bonus we should have recieved for paying the protection for 3years without claiming. The ppi has now been cancelled which would have happened 3 years ago if we had known we could cancel it, we thought we had to keep it. It took just one letter to reclaim all this and is only thanks to martin lewis. forever grateful

    Hi there

Yeah this is generic of LLoyds usual response, don't let it go, and keep at them, it is also known for them to even change a final decision.

So if you want to, before going to the FOS, write again, just give them 7 days, tell them your aware the FSA are punishing banks for not investigating complaints properly and you don't believe yours was looked at properly - and overlooked with a standard -basic response.

Tell them you are giving them the opportunity to look into your complaint again, but this time you want it investigated thoroughly by 7 days, then go on to say that if you hear nothing by 7 days, you will go ahead to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), where is successful they will occur more charges for themselves, where you also intend to ask for further redress as well for the inconvenience of not having your complaint investigated properly by the complaints dept.

However, in my experience they do tend to uphold more on the loan ppi rather than the credit card ppi, but keep at them is best.

You can also email them here as well as sending a hardcopy in the post, and also copy it to the Chief Exective officer (CEO) as well.

Hope this helps, please keep us posted.;)

Interesting to note that when I contacted Lloyds today they told me that there was no email contact address or phone number for the customer care centre (I use that phrase very lightly).
I was told that the only contact available was by fax.
I told them that there was more chance of getting a reply if I sent it by pigeon!!

Well, after my success with my credit card charges (which I had linked to at this point but apparently am not allowed to yet, so ho hum!), I moved right on to the PPI for the Barclaycard - having only realised I was paying it when going through my statements for the charges! This was claimed a while back, but like the aforementioned Barclaycard charges, I had reason to keep them very secret for a time.

I do have the letter for this still, so I can tell you that I claimed back £1,123.14 in PPI premiums from May 2003 to November 2009; £218.38 in 'compound interest' charged on PPI premiums; £204.58 'interest on any credit balance at equivalent of 8% per year, calculated on a monthly basis'. This is a grand total of £1,563.98!

Again, thank you so much for the guides and the forum posts. This time I wrote the letter and then received a form (that others seem to have received). I sent the form back completed, with a copy of my original letter.

LOL strange that the customer care does get back then isn't it? :rotfl::D

Not so long back I emailed both Customer Care and Internet banking the same time, to request they forward some information on to C&G for us, the following day Internet banking got back to say there is no way they can do this as they have no email facility, or there is no email facility to them, and later in the day received an email back from Customer care to confirm they had sent out info request.

Think they say what they want don't they?:D LOL

Hi following my success, im sure as most of you aware with lloyds no figures untill you sign

Does anyone have any idea as to what the procedure is

I had a loan that was for £13,000 taken out in oct 2002 PPI was £3,002.48 they dotn give me the date loan settled, but im sure it was running for no more than 4-6 months. and they state i had a rebate of £2,347.00.

does having the PPI have a major effect on settlement figures and, is the calc based on the difference between rebate and PPI cost?

I know i will get interest from date loan settled to now which is a good few years.

With not having a hol for a good few years due to the mess i was in, this money is smoething i will get back myself, and try to get an idea if should be looking at butlins or abraod...

If anyone could have a guess or point me in the direction of someone who could id be very greatfull

just waiting onHSBC now and halifax

    cheers
