Hi can anyone tell me if you can make claims with Yorkshire Bank for PPI?
ive shifted through loads of pages but not seen anyone say Yorkshire Bank.
I find this so confusing-my partner was told 6 years ago if he didnt take the insurance with his loan it would be refused so had to agree to it but after reading loads of your stories it seems its only certain banks that your all claiming from so im lost  .
if so can we still claim after feb 2010?0 -

Hi Laura and welcome to the PPI forums.
Yes I am aware there have been success with all the above.
However, when you write to reclaim with whatever reasons you have you actually write to the ones who sold you the finance.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond.
Below link to the guidelines of reclaiming, with template letters, a checklist of mis selling reasons and so on.

So if you have a case with all these, go for it, good luck, yell for help anytime and please keep us posted, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there and yes you can.
Also it does not matter if the loan is still active or settled, the oldest of mine was 2001 which was successful and this was complained on last year, if you have the account number and with your reasons you have stated in your post above, write in the letter, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.
More info with templates etc here:

Give it a go and keep at them.
Please keep us posted and ask for help anytime, good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

we had a loan previous to this but i cant find the agreement to that is they anyway i can get hold of this to put in a claim for ppi has i dont know a date or account number of it to insert it into a letter?
both loans are settled.
Do we put two seperate letters in for each claim? or does the bank automatically do them both for us?
do i send a copy of the agreement or just that template letter?
Also when ive looked at the template theres a section that says it you have you been fined by FSA? how do i know if Yorkshire Bank has been fined?
I honestly dont have a clue what i should be deleting or including on this template in our letter.
we have since had two other loans and refused the PPI and still got them i feel a little weary of putting a claim in when weve had these loans and not claimed before now,but i have only just noticed this when i came across these pages yesterday.
I also noticed you can claim for the insurance on credit cards we didnt even asked for this until we eventually got it cancelled in 2004 because we was paying at one stage the same amount in insurance has our minimum payment was, i cant find all the details of these just a few odd statements so dont know if its worth doing anything about it.
Any help or suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

Hi Lisa, your welcome.
List here copies and pasted from Martin's guideline of PPI reclaiming of who have been fined so far:
Who’s been fined so far?- Swinton: Fined £770,000 in Oct 2009 for serious failings and an unacceptable level of non-compliant sales (on cover for home or motor insurance) between Dec 06 and Mar 08 (when it stopped selling PPI). Swinton has said it will contact over 350,000 customers who paid for the PPI and offer a full refund, as well as pro-actively review previously rejected claims. More Info: Swinton.
- Egg: Fined £721,000 in Dec 2008 for serious failings in its credit card PPI sales by telephone between Jan 05 and Dec 07. Egg has said it will be writing to customers, asking them to call a dedicated number if they are concerned they were missold PPI, and will compensate where appropriate. More Info: Egg.
- Alliance and Leicester (A&L): Fined £7 million, the highest fine to date by far, in Oct 2008 for serious failings in its PPI telephone sales between Jan 05 and Dec 07. A&L has said it will be writing to all the customers concerned. More Info: Alliance and Leicester.
- 5 motor retailers: GK Group Limited, George White Motors Limited, Ringways Garages (Leeds) Limited, Ringways Garages (Doncaster) Limited and Park’s of Hamilton (Holdings) Limited were fined a total of more than £175,000 in Aug 2008 for exposing a total of 2,175 customers to the risk of being sold unsuitable PPI policies. More Info: Motor retailers.
- Liverpool Victoria: Fined £840,000 in July 2008 for serious failings in the sale of single premium PPI on telephone loans sold betweeen 14 January 2005 and 8 August 2007. It has also agreed to compensate customers if their policy is not appropriate and to refund interest automatically. More Info: Liverpool Victoria.
- Land of Leather Ltd: Fined £210,000 in May 2008 for allowing its sales force to sell PPI, between May 2006 and Feb 2007, without effective monitoring or training. More Info: Land of Leather.
- HFC Bank, also trading as "Household Bank" and "Beneficial Finance": Fined £1,085,000 in January 2008 for putting customers at an unacceptable risk of being sold PPI when it was not suitable for them. Failings took place in branches between Jan 2005 and May 2007. More Info: HFC Bank
- Capital One: Fined £175,000 in February 2007 for failing to ensure that 50,000 customers buying credit cards and loans between January 2005 and April 2006 received important information about the policy. More info: Capital One
- GE Capital Bank Ltd: (supplies cards for Asda, Comet, Debenhams and Topshop among others): Fined £610,000 in January 2007 for inappropriate sales of its store cards and credit cards. More info: GE Capital Bank Ltd
- Redcats: Fined £270,000 in December 2006 for also not having adequate systems and controls in place to minimise the risk of unsuitable sales. More info: Redcats
- Regency Mortgage Corporation: Fined £56,000 in December 2006 for not collecting sufficient information during a PPI sale to ensure its recommendations met customers' demands and needs. More info: Regency Mortgage Corporation
- Loans.co.uk: Fined £455,000 in October 2006 for not having appropriate systems and controls to minimise the risk of unsuitable sales. More info: Loans.co.uk
You could always try contacting them by writing or ringing to request for any account numbers you do not have if you remember the dates you taken them out, if not request a SAR (Subject Access Request)more details here of the SAR:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553
For the same bank etc, for the loans you have taken out keep them together and the credit card separately and so on.
But they will require the account numbers for each one of them.
If you any old statements lying around, check them out for account numbers, because with loans if paying direct debit for the monthly repayments, the account numbers should be shown next to the payments made.;)
There are lots of reasons that may apply to you, some just used to automatically add it in with the loan or credit card, they should have checked to make sure you did not already have appropriate insurance.
There may have been a pre med existing condition when taking out the policy, where they would not pay out on a claim and so on, or maybe you were not working, or working less that 16 hours and so on.
Or if working the employer may have covered you.
There are lots of reasons, so if any of them apply to you then you have a case.
Go back to the link I posted in my above post and check it all out on there.;)
Hope this helps. Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
