    Hi all

Well after a moan on here a couple of weeks ago that it felt as if the whole FOS process was dragging on, my husband had a phone call from Halifax saying that they had 'overlooked' something on our PPI claim and are now paying out! I believe they actually said to him they had mis sold it to us!

I'm not sure on the amount but we should be receiving paperwork in the post shortly.
We got the loan over the phone back in July 06 and consolidated it in Aug 2007. The amount was for £7500 both times (the 2nd replaced the first if you get what I'm saying??) - not sure what APR was, I think it was 8-9%.

I'm not sure if they are upholding my claim from Aug 07 or before - should I make sure they take it back from the original point of sale in Jul 06? This was the convo I remember where I now know I was mis sold.

Do you think the FOS nudged them a bit to pay out?

Thanks to Martin and all the people on here who's advice has been great. Just one complaint left with FOS (Lloyds!!!).

    :j

    Wonderful Nat, Congratulations :beer::T:beer:

Yes maybe the FOS did give them a bit of a nugde, well done.;)

  • Hi, hopefully Im posting this correctly!! Have been trawling through all these forums and its helped me a great deal to understand various aspects of PPi reclaiming. Basically, we have a complaint with the FOS about Lloyds, we recently heard from the FOS that Lloyds are sticking with the fact that they never mis-sold us PPI, which is fairly obvious they would, anyway the FOS said that we will now be handed over to an adjudicator and they will keep us updated monthly, our claim has been with them for nearly a year now. Does this mean that they agree that our claim was mis-sold and the adjudicator will now fight this? and does anyone know how long this procedure takes, any help very much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome

This is normal procedures, so what will happen now is the adjudicator will look at 2 sides, they have however dealt with stacks of complaints in regards of LLoyds TSB where to what I know of have upheld in people's favour, a link below will give you more info, its very interesting.

Lloyds in my experience are not the easiest to deal with, both me and my hubby were finally successful through the FOS in regards of Credit Cards PPI, and recently with some loan ppi they have given offers, but hubby is not happy, it was the final response from them and actually the only response from them, and even though they say the files have closed hubby noticed a few errors on the findings, and dates etc, they messed up somewhere, he received a letter the other day to inform him they are actually looking at the complaint again.

Wishing you luck with this, fingers crossed, please keep us posted.:)

  • Hi Amersall,

The only paper work i signed was 2 years ago for claiming back my credit card charges nothing to do with PPI. So i think because they noticed how much PPI i had paid they thought they could take 25% if i signed again.

The word chancers spring to mind:)

    Thanks

  • Hi not been on for while have received reply once again from GE Money stating they have looked at complaint and in so many other words are declining i refferred this to the FOS but was returned without any help so tried ge money again and asked them to restructure the loan as the ppi had expired (5yrs) but we would be paying interest remainder of loan (20yrs) but they seem adamant not to budge anyone out there had or have dealings with this company i'm hitting a brick wall as what to do or say in any further correspondance i may have with them ANY IDEAS or ADVICE PLEASE
  • Hi guys, Barclays have restored my faith in them. Refund success of aprox.£5,500 and one of their, very helpful, head guys is sorting out a claim from 8 years ago for me as well. The loan was also reduced by £2,600.

Thank you Martin for those fantastic templates. £8,100 back is fantastic, will use the £5,500 to pay off credit cards, with our loan reduction, that is £3,400 off our yearly outgoings and debt free in 2 and a half years.

    Hi there

I hope someone who have had dealings with these will post up for you, I believe there have been many who have dealt with these.

So the FOS have stated they cannot help?

When did you take out the loan (what year)?
It maybe because they were not regulated when you taken the finance out with them, such as not protected by GISC where the FSA taken over in Jan 2005, the FOS are normally only normally to adjudicate those who were covered by these.

But I would contact the FOS again and maybe suggest the insurer/underwriter direction instead, the details of these should be on your finance policy, if you do not have these then request them from GE Money, they should send them through the post on request.

The FOS are trying to make these responsible, and I do actually have one in with them now, waiting to be passed on to an adjudicator.

So give the FOS a ring and see what they suggest for you on this just in case. Good luck.
