Hi all. I posted this somewhere else on here yesterday but did not get much of a response so any advice welcome please-

    Hi All

Need some advice here as others seem to be having luck claiming where I don't. Despite some success others have gone quiet.

Barclaycard x 2 claims - First template letter sent recorded del, no reply, second sent recorded, no repsonse. The second threatened them with online court action to recover costs. Is this worth doing and have other sbeen sucessful like this?

Capital One - Cashed my cheque for charges cost and have sent nothing. Second letter sent but still no schedule of charges. Where do I go from here?

MBNA - Paid a nominal sum saying they dont agree with OFT charges. Appear to have ignored my second letter. Do I go straight to online claims court?

    Any help gratefully received please
    .

I did however get a response from Barclays yesterday regarding an old loan. Success!
Withoit having to chase or even returning their standard from, I got back in the region of £4900. They added the interest, deducted what they previously credited for the early loan settlement so this means my o/d with them is clear and I some to spare to clear other things.:j

I now intend going after them for my reserve fees - has anyone had success claiming these back? After all I never signed anything.

So positives and negatives above. I would really appreciate some advice for the negatives. (Di my previously backdside kicking letters seem to have been ignored)

    Thanks
    Putty

    Hi Putty

First of all well done on your Barclays reclaim, Congratulations.

Putty, just a thought, why don't you contact the FSA and see what they have to say on these matters?
Its not on what you have been through here, so it maybe worth giving them a call and see if they have any suggestions.
I would as well chase these banks up by giving them a quick ring for an update.

Hopefully, someone will have some answers here for you with some opinions, fingers crossed Putty.;)

Hi putty, what are these letters for? Are they reclaiming PPI or bank charges? If its PPI and Barclaycard have just ignored (or any of the others you mentioned) then you are free to take the complaint to the FOS if you don't hear within the 8 weeks. If you sent everything recorded delivery then you will have proofs.

Just read Di's input above and she has suggested the FSA on the matter. Perhaps this is Bank Charges then and I know nothing really about this.

    Hi

B Card letters are both charges reclaims as is Cap one and MBNA is both PPI and charges.

I guess I will have to consult with FSA

    Thanks
  • Hi there

For anyone waiting a payout from Black Horse through the FOS, you may have to wait a while!!! spoke to BH this morning as the FOS sent my settlement form to them 4 weeks ago and they advised that they are working on complaints (via the FOS) from the end of November!!! I was told it will be the full 12 weeks before I here anything!!!!

Just goes to show they must have hundreds and hundreds of PPI complaints!!
  • Just an update on my previous post regarding Black Horse PPI, received the following cheques this week:

    Chq 1 - £1967.21
    Chq 2 - £841.41
    Chq 3 - £416.61

    Total of £3225.23 :j

Good luck to everyone claiming THEIR money back - Don't give up!

Yes, I was told that they have a massive backlog at the moment!! Probably not helped by their offices being shut down around the UK...
