Congrats everyone whose managed to claim :T

I'm new to this and still don't really understand it. I've been sitting trying to work it out all day. I've managed to compose a letter to Freemans using the first template letter as a guide which I'm pleased about :D

However as I mentioned earlier I have one I want to sort out for Welcome Finance and it was mentioned I could claim on 2 accounts above but I don't really understand whats meant. I don't know where best to start. Think I need a coffee

    Hi and welcome.;)
    Good luck with Freemans.

Not sure about the 2 accounts, but for your reasons, you write to the ones who arranged and sold you the loan, as you have with Freemans, and they have 8 weeks to respond in full.

Maybe Tiggrae will explain about the 2 account side of things to you when she is here.;)
    Fingers crossed for you X

    Hi and Welcome Anne;)

To make a reclaim, you will require your account numbers on both loans, so if you do not have these on hand, do you have any old statements where this would show the monthly repayments, the account numbers would be shown next to the repayments.

    Are the loans still active?

If so you could request a Subject Access Request (SAR) where they have 40 days to comply/send all the info they still hold on your account, hopefully they still hold some details.
For a SAR request there is a charge of £10 postal order or cheque payment you have to enclose with this SAR request, and I would post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.
    Link here to SAR:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553

In regards of reclaiming, you write to the ones who sold you the loans, and they have 8 weeks in full to respond, again best to post by recorded delivery, more help with templates on link here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

So check out the above and ask for help anytime as well, and please keep us posted, cheers.;)

on my way to cpmleting my first letter to welcome finance then I'll need to start with northern rock whom I also have a loan with which is unsecured but runs beside my mortgage!
well done, you sound as though you have the same finances as me, i have just heard from northern rock and now i am digging and delving on welcome finance.

I had a car loan in 2001 and wrote to them last september basically got a response stating that the loan agreement pre-dates the regulation of the financial services authority. so at the time i thought this is too confusing right now as i was dealing with northern rock.

like i said to you earlier, one step at a time, welcome is on my hit list now as i have sorted northen rock (i think) lol, . I have emailed the Fo this evening and I am ready for a good old fight with either welcome or (direct group) whoever take responsibilty for this, but i wont be beaten.

hope everything works out for you.

just ask loads of questions, I do and the advice is great

    take care
