I hardly did anything compared to some of the people on here, I take my hat off to you all for preserving.

It was just a bit of luck to try a different approach.. Thought it was best to start at the Top man, got director’s email details from FSA site, it was easy sailing from there. (he must be wondering why he’s suddenly receiving all these emails).   :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Gerry. x x :kisses:
Its a very handy tool Gerry, the FSA register. ;)

    • What were you reclaiming: PPI on a loan since Mid-2004
    • Who was the provider: HFC
    • How much did you get back: Just under £4500 including the 8% interest
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After first letter
I used the template letter to get the PPI missold to my mum on a loan, as she was self-employed, and also because it was not fully explained. We didn't realise there was PPI until the first(!) statement they've ever sent came a month ago (their new policy is to issue annual statements). The balance of the loan left was around £5500, so £4500 nearly pays it off! They replied to acknowledge the letter after a week, and then another 10 days went before a letter that said it did not admit misselling but was prepared to pay this amount as a gesture of goodwill. The form for payment was enclosed and hopefully we should have the cash soon. Thanks MSE and forum posters - for the template letters, and also for someone posting the correct address for HFC so that my letter went to the right place first time.

Now I'm going to find out about a HFC loan that was from before that period but within 7 years. Fingers crossed I'll hear back soon.

Received a Cheque payment today from the Financial Compensation Scheme (FSCS) in regards of the loan business going bust over a year ago, called TWOPART LTD/Eloan.co.uk.

    The Cheque received = £1443.87

So happy and it will be a help for the mortgage arrears.

If there is anyone out there who have had a loan with the above company and was mis sold the PPI, please claim through the above organisation, you will find them here:

Must be a great feeling getting good news throught the letterbox instead of the usual doom and gloom. Looking forward to lots more good news.

  • Hi Di, i put a claim in against vanquis bank last year about ppi, they sent me a letter & the cd (which was recorded when i agreed to take out the ppi?????) which wouldn't play on my computer anyway, they sent me a final letter & the time slot is up now and I can't go to the fos. Can I start reclaiming again or once you've done it is that it??

    Hi Dreamer, hope your well.:A
Its good to hear from you.

When did you receive the final decision from the bank hun?

If its gone past the 6 months since the final decision, you can ask the FOS to consider your complaint on the grounds of maybe some personal issues, for example, medical grounds of the reason why you could not continue, or any reason that you feel you should mention in order for them to consider taking on your complaint.;)XXX

  • Thanx hun, hope ur well, it's well over 6 months, i contacted the fos about something else, and asked them if a recording was good enough evidence of accepting, esecially that i couldn't play it on my computer, name & date etc was on but just a fuzzy sound playing, they told me to send in a complaint to them but i then realised it was over 6 months. When I listened to the cd i just gave up then & threw all the letters & the cd i'd received from them. I have just written them a letter n week ago because they've increased my interest to over 59% :(((
