Thank you very much Martin Lewis.

I used the template from this web site to claim my money back from Egg. I took out a loan in Oct 2006. After reading lots of reports from other people that were not succesful, I hesitated. But now I am glad I sent it. Got back £2700!!!! So people go for it!!!! Thanks again Martin.
 congrats to you , well done:j:j
  • Hi guys,

My brother told me about claiming back for PPI just this weekend.
I am at work and wont have the chance to scan through all the forums to see but I was thinking about claiming for myself and my boyfriend.
I havent yet checked the policy details for either of us but wondered if anyone has claimed monies back from a capital one credit card ppi, hsbc credit card ppi or nationwide loan ppi??

Thanks for your help in advance.

If you put the names of the companies into the search this thread on the PPI success and failure thread then you will see how many have won.

What are your reasons for reclaiming?
  • Hi
I'm new to the forum but not to the site, and wanted to share today's success with you all!

I sent a letter to Natwest 7 weeks ago to claim my PPI (approx £5500 with interest). They responded within 2 weeks to acknowledge the letter, then again 2 weeks after that to say their investigation would be complete with the next 4 weeks.
Got a letter this morning offering me £4250 as a 'goodwll gesture'!!! Hurray!
Have to say Natwest have handled everything very professionally - they were equally helpful when I claimed my bank charges 2 years ago!!

    woo hooooo!! LTSB next.
    thanks to everyone at MSE!

Good luck with this and just keep at them, if they do not uphold in your favour, they may give you the opportunity to write back to them again, hopefully you will be one of those successful ones.
You do though then if your not happy with the outcome have the opportunity to take your complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).
    Fingers crossed for you.;)

  • • What were you reclaiming: loan insurance
    • Who was the provider: HSBC
    • How much did you get back: almost £4000
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1 letter

    • And then write your brief reclaim tale: I took out a loan with HSBC in 2006 - at the time I was told I would not be approved if I didn't get the PPI. The person at the bank also checked a checklist for me and told me to sign it to "speed things up". I felt pressured at the time but just wanted to sort the loan out. I knew that this was wrong after reading this website awhile back, but only recently gained the confidence to claim back money that was mine (thanks to reading the encouraging stories of all of the people on this forum). I sent the first letter August 24th. On 7 Sept I received a letter saying they were looking into it. 28th Sept another letter arrived saying they were still looking into it but there was a delay because of the backlog. Then, today, I had another letter with the offer. I just wanted to share my story to encourage others to DON'T DOUBT YOURSELF- if you know your bank has mis-sold to you then don't hesitate like I did. Thanks to all of you who have shared in the past, good luck to all of those who are claiming/planning to claim and also a big thank you to Martin Lewis. This site is really opening my eyes to many things that I'm not going to put up with from now on.
