Hi Martin, firstly, big thanks, been reading everything on this site for a while, just don;t get round to doing things!

    • What were you reclaiming:
    PPI Loan insurance
    • Who was the provider:
    Allience and Leicester
    • How much did you get back:
    £766.08
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:
I sent only 1 letter to them
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
I took out a loan for a car a couple of years ago, which I am still paying for, but despite being full time employed with the same company since I left college, the sales rep told me that I had to take out the PPI cover as a condition of receiving the loan. Being a mug I carried on.

I read about this PPI reclaiming a long time ago, but thought it would be complicated and just didnt get round to it, but I had a day off two weeks ago, I downloaded one template and pasted in my details, took about 5 minutes, then posted it, 2 weeks later I've got a letter saying I will be repaid in full with interest and my monthly repayments are being reduced from £210 to £170.

Cheers Martin! I owe you one
    nice one:T

    HELP NEEDED AGAIN !!!

Received a letter yesterday from HFC bank telling me the below after I requested a copy of a loan agreement with them

As you may be aware the bank is not required to provide information under section 77 of the consumer credit act 1974 when a loan has been paid in full. We confirm the above account was closed on 4 May 2004.
Cheque number 084 for 1.00 has therefore been returned.

What is my next step ?? I thought they had to send me a copy of the agreement ?
    Debt Free in 2010 ??? Fingers Crossed:cool:

    Hi there

Unfortunately although it wasn't until recently that I was fully aware of this but if the loan was settled a while ago, they may not always hold this info still, but your next step if you want to is to go the SAR side of things, where they have 40 days to comply and send everything they do still hold on you, this they must comply to.
Although there is a charge of £10 for this by either postal order or cheque payment, link below to template letter for this.

However, just as long as you have an account number you can still continue to complain and reclaim.;)
