• Off I go then!!
Cheers
• What were you reclaiming: PPI on two credit cards from same provider
• Who was the provider: Egg (Egg Money and Egg Card)
• How much did you get back: £1468.50
• Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: First letter (stage one template)
• And then write your brief reclaim tale: I wasn't feeling particularly hopeful about my reclaim whilst writing the letter, as my arguments were that Egg had been fined by the FSA a and that they had used check boxes on my online application. Letter sent on Saturday 17th, reply received Thursday 22st saying yes to both claims plus the full 8% interest.
It's worth noting that Martin's stage One template letter doesn't include anything about check boxes on online applications, so I penned my own that people are welcome to borrow:
· I purchased the policies online as part of my credit card applications and believe that the use of check boxes meant that it was not made explicitly clear whether I was purchasing Payment Protection Insurance or not. This is a technique that is no longer considered to be acceptable by the FSA.
• Well Done to all WINNERS! Keep up the hard work, lets stop the big bonuses to the Bankers!

• Hi Martin, firstly, big thanks, been reading everything on this site for a while, just don;t get round to doing things!

• What were you reclaiming:
PPI Loan insurance
• Who was the provider:
Allience and Leicester
• How much did you get back:
£766.08
• Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:
I sent only 1 letter to them
• And then write your brief reclaim tale
I took out a loan for a car a couple of years ago, which I am still paying for, but despite being full time employed with the same company since I left college, the sales rep told me that I had to take out the PPI cover as a condition of receiving the loan. Being a mug I carried on.

I read about this PPI reclaiming a long time ago, but thought it would be complicated and just didnt get round to it, but I had a day off two weeks ago, I downloaded one template and pasted in my details, took about 5 minutes, then posted it, 2 weeks later I've got a letter saying I will be repaid in full with interest and my monthly repayments are being reduced from £210 to £170.

Cheers Martin! I owe you one

Hi all,

Well, the saga of my PPI win continues! Yesterday, after a week of phone calls and emails between me and the FOS and the FOS and Loans.co.uk, I finally received a phone call from Loans.co.uk - this only after my man at the FOS contacted them asking them (for the 2nd time that day!) to call me. Cutting a long story short, Loans.co.uk paid my money into my bank account yesterday (they had promised it would be done on Wednesday!) and it should be available to me by Wednesday of next week. The 2 cheques they claim to have sent have still not arrived - I don't believe they were ever sent. The man at the FOS was really annoyed that he had been lied to by Loans.co.uk as he had obviously been passing false information to me. All in all Loans.co.uk have proved to be a thoroughly unprofessional, incompetent, ignorant bunch of people whose communication skills leave a lot to be desired. The whole episode with Loans.co.uk will have taken 15 weeks by the time my money's available. Hopefully my money will be in my account next week and I can stop stressing and relax a bit!!

Next venture - AA Personal loan. Just hope that ones easier!!!

Thanks once again to everyone on here whose been so supportive and helpful. You're all amazing!!! :T:T:T:T:T

Good luck to everyone making claims. Lets keep at 'em and get our money back!!!

Love to all.
