Got word from Alliance and Leicester today that they are awarding me £651 plus the £2159 that BOS awarded me on Monday - life is certainly getting better. I would not have been able to do it.without this website which has been totally fantastic.

    So that will be a total of about £5,200 that I have been awarded ( £2,500 from A&L, £2159 BOS & £651 from A&L)

    Cheers to you all:j

I was jsut wondering if you could apply for these PPI charges back even if your creditor is on a DMP with the CCCS? I am looking at just doing this to knock some of the balance off a CC that I was paying about £40 for this each month, It would help loads and would make it more than likely easier to pay off this huge credit card. Also could it turn them nasty again and start charging silly interest and charges again?

Thanks to anyone for advice :)
You can still complain about PPI even if you are on a DMP I think but the redress (if you win) may be paid against any debts. It would still reduce what you owe though.;)

Hi all, well got the first kick in the teeth from First Plus today. As we have now put in a claim for misselling of ppi we decided that we wanted to cancel the policy to try and save a bit of cash in the mean time before hopefully we get a refund.
First Plus have come back and said that we would only be entitled to a refund of 200.00 and our payments would go down by 2.50 a month!!!!
They say when we took out the loan in aug 05 (in the middle of when this scandal all started!!!!) the ins premium was added to the total loan and repayments had been spread out over the 25 year term
Considering the inurance that was added to a total of 17500k and the fact we have paid them over 30k in the last 4 years I dont see how this adds up. Hubby is gonna phone them but right now vvvvv confused!!!!!

    will keep u posted

    Hi

    Wishing you luck with this.
I would personally keep everything in writing, and keep copies in case you need to refer to them later on, but I do hope things will sort out and resolve here, remember as well if they do not change their decision you can take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service (FOS), keep at them.;)

hi there, you will be better off waiting for your mis sell, save a phone call. you will get no joy with the cancel of ppi,. if you win your mis sell then you get the ppi amount taken off your loan, all the ppi payments you have made to date with 8% interest back to you and the loan put back to the position it was without the ppi.thats why fp ppi is a rip off even when you cancel you still pay this back over the long term, take a look at this website and it will open your eyes firstpluscomplaints.co.uk
  • Hi
Just quickly i have payed my paragon loan off 3 years ago, recently challenged them and in a reply which too forever they stated that i had a rebate for £1500 when loan was paid off. They said as a good will gesture they would give me 1,000 more, i declined. They have now increased the offer to £2,500 which adds up if you include the rebate, to exactly the amount of the original loan. However no interest payments oy rebates on payments. What do you think, i cant take this to court, and this is there final offer:mad:
