  • I have just looked at a loan aggreement the second of which i have taken out with beneficial finance to find that the 1st loan i took did not have PPI on it yet the 2nd loan i took did as the guy who sold it to me said that i would get a better deal with it on blah blah blah. I have just looked at all the loan paperwork to find all automated ticks in the boxes etc. I am in the armed forces hence the reason i would not need this protection unless i did something rediculously stupid of course. How do i stand??

If you are in the forces then you would get paid regardless so if this the same at the time of taking the loan out then I would send them a misselling letter to reclaim.

Take a look at the link here and there is a template letter on it but its always best to do your own letter using the template as a guide and with your own reasons.

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

You then send it to whoever actually sold you the insurance and give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. If they do not uphold you should then be able to take this to the FOS for them to look into although I would think you would not have to as you have a good case.

Send any correspondence recorded delivery as you then have a proof if things do need to go further.

    Good luck

    • What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
    • Who was the provider: Egg
    • How much did you get back: £1580
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Had to go all the way to the FO
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale: Egg rejected my original complaint, gave their final response after my second letter, I took the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman who ruled in my favour about 2 months ago. I got the cheque from Egg on Saturday about 18 months after I wrote my 1st letter. Keep at it- it is worth it in the end

I have just spoke to FO about Black Horse and I am unable to go through them as the date of the loan for some reason is out of their bracket (Jan 2001 - April 2003 and then 2005 onwards) So I am now stuck as I was hoping they would help me. Has anyone out there been in the same situation ?? If so please can you tell me where to go next

    Thanks guys

    Hi Leondp
    Sorry to hear of this.

I am hoping that someone who have been dealing with these who taken a loan the same year as you to post up, I am sure though the FOS did re-look at them, not unless they are asking that you go to the insurer instead of the lender.
Hopefully someone will come along to clarify on this soon.

As its very likely that the insurer were governed by the GISC/FSA, where the FOS can take a look at these complaints if this is the case.;)

Hi and yes there is no harm in doing this, the best to do there is take a photocopy, highlight the mistakes and write an accompanied letter to explain it.
Do not post them the original.;)
Good luck and please let us know how you get on.
