    Hi WoodyMeg

Just to say that the Broker is always classed as the ones who arranged and sold you the loan, hope this have not confused you hun.;)

If the actual lender sold you the loan, then they are then also classed as the broker.

This can be confusing when all this is new.

You should be fine, as it was Freedom that sold and arranged this for you, they are classed as a broker anyway, but with some you go direct with the lender where the they act as both broker and lender.;)

You are going the right direction with this so it will be okay, good luck.;)

  • received a letter 2day from lloyds re mis sale of ppi and they said they have received my complaint and how sorry they are blah blah blah.
anyway they go on 2 say that they wil do their best 2 resolve my complaint in the next 8 weeks.
anyway at the bottom it says if i wish 2 cancel my ppi on my current loan whilst they investigate i had 2 ring up,so i did,and this woman was really rude on the phone when i said i want 2 cancel my insurance.
she said she wil send me out a letter with my new loan balance minus the ppi,i asked her though that because this is diffrent 2 my original loan agreement could i get my loan re-structured with a new payment plan, she said no,surely that cant b right can it,she said it only affects the remaining balance and the term of the loan, not the actual repayments.
has anyone had anything similar, and does it look like they wil refund my ppi,i really hope so.

What reason did you give for the mis-selling of the ppi policy:question: I ask as I am about to try and claim mine back:o

Sorry its taken me a while to reply.

Basically, the MBNA cards were one of the very first credit cards I ever took out,and being very green at the time, assumed PPI was part of the deal, without ever having the fact that it was optional properly explained, and also that in the event of disaster, they only paid the minimum amount for a year!
I later found out that my job actually came with very generous cover for disease etc and that the PPI I had taken out was completely unneccessary.

I did get it cancelled, but until I stumbled across Martins Marvellous Money Tips, wasnt aware I could reclaim!

Using Martin's template letters and adding my own reasons as above,I started the process, and stuck with it via the Ombudsman for 11 months!

I have written to them for a breakdown of how the figure they arrived at was calculated but have received no reply.

Be patient,it took me 11 months in total!
