Hi again.......:D
Thanks for asking on dad, he came home from hospital last Monday and so far doing good.:T
Looks like you received the standard response from lloyds tsb.
I am currently dealing with my lloyds loan ppi complaints now, although the FOS did resolve my credit card ppi complaint for me.
So I expect I will have this to come again, mine are on settled loans though, so will differ to active loans.
Lloyds are hard work in my experience, and we are having a few issues with them without the ppi business at the moment, they are not very helpful at all, and yes rude as well.
You may have read on here about these, being the highest of them all to reject these complaints, so hopefully now that this have been let out in the open they will play ball and resolve direct, instead of going as far as the FOS route.
I think there are many that have been in your situation with them, keep a note of everything, and phone calls, because if you decide that your not happy with the way they are dealing with your complaints, you can still go to the FOS.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

anyway they go on 2 say that they wil do their best 2 resolve my complaint in the next 8 weeks.
anyway at the bottom it says if i wish 2 cancel my ppi on my current loan whilst they investigate i had 2 ring up,so i did,and this woman was really rude on the phone when i said i want 2 cancel my insurance.
she said she wil send me out a letter with my new loan balance minus the ppi,i asked her though that because this is diffrent 2 my original loan agreement could i get my loan re-structured with a new payment plan, she said no,surely that cant b right can it,she said it only affects the remaining balance and the term of the loan, not the actual repayments.
has anyone had anything similar, and does it look like they wil refund my ppi,i really hope so.0 -
hi there, if i were you i would go with the mis sell. if you cancel the insurance now you will in effect have a new loan redone without the ppi and if i am correct you will get it over more years, i would keep the ppi for now and if you win your case the loan will have to be put back to the terms and length of time the original one was and at the same apr without the ppi. and you will get back all ppi payments made to date plus 8% interest.dont give up
I agree amersall.;)
I hope lloyds uphold on my loans ppi's, only resolved the credit card ones with them so far, which the FOS resolved and not Lloyds themselves. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Di and Big Al,
My Loan PPI with lloyds was rejected twice by the bank before going to the FOS and although the cash is not in my account yet they have now agreed with the FOS to uphold my complaint. It has taken about nine months.
As for my lloyds creditcard.... I complained last December and it has now been with the FOS since May. I waited passed all the 'we haven't managed to come to a conclusion' letters and given the chance again I would have sent it in after the first eight weeks were up as this was clearly just time wasting. FOS have asked LLoyds for the details on the account three times now and still have not had a reply.
Also, with lloyds in particular it looks to me like a lot of people who take the first offer are selling themselves short, just a guess though. I did have an offer from lloyds on the loan and after taking this to the FOS it turns out that their first offer was about a 1/5 of the actual amount.
Big Al, check everything when you get it back and if it doesn't seem right then I'd go the FOS route if you can wait
Good luck to you both x
Di, I agree some of the staff on the lloyds side have been very rude... saying that it can't be a very pleasant job to do. I had a lovely lady on the phone last night though about the loan refund. She was an exception, of the 10s of calls I have made to lloyds only a couple have been handled with respect and patience... it really puts me off calling them!!0 -
Hi :j
Have not been on the forum for a while.. As an update, I am claiming PPI on 5 barclays loans, taken over the last 8 years... I had the complaint with Barclays for 8 weeks last year, but no real answer from them, then it went to the FOS and has been with them since the 01/11/2008...
I have been through "casework Support", the "negotiating team", and the "adjudicator", and now I have received correspondance that my complaint has been passed to the next stage...
Does anybody know how many more stages there are? And how long it might take... The adjudicator agreed that Barclays should pay out, but the bank was not responding to his letters or emails...
Your help would be greatly appreciated :T0 -
This should now be at the final stage which is the Ombudsman and their decision is legaly binding. My Ombudsman took two weeks to agree with the adjudicator. Hope it wont be too long now.DS1 12/10/04
DS2 13/07/06
DD1 06/12/070 -
Mine, against LTSB, was refered to an Ombudsman in June, but as yet hasn't been assigned to one.
The FOS are in talks/negotiations with LTSB and others regarding the claims en masse, so hopefully we all won't have to jump through hoops in future IF they can come to a satisfactory agreement. I mean satisfactory to us not the banks.0 -
Thanks koala77 I have a similar issue. I was directed to Paragon by Loans.co.uk. However, all the documentation I signed was from Paragon including the horrendous amount of PPI rather than Loans.co.uk. Do you think I should send a letter to them as well as Paragon?DMP May 08 - £27,000 approx! Debt free 2024!!0
