hi all
ive just been going through my documents and am abit worried to claim i will explain :
In june 05 took a loan out with igroup for 10000 which had ppi added of 1260 total for 60months would have been 4346.60,
In dec2005 took another loan out for 30000.00 with Igroup again , again ppi was added 3720.00 period of 240 months which equates to 10778.40 so they tell me.
In Sept 2006 we had it all put into one mortgage
filling out the form about protection we answered that we have other cover through private insurances they still put this on.
My query is this company is part of the GE Money group who we have our mortgage with Would i still be able to claim without upsetting my mortgage company even though its only a department of theirs, also am in arrears with mortgage and would like to clear it with this money. and also dont have ppi on the mortgage through ge money its a seperate insurance. surely they will have paid this premium off twice each time we took the other out .
please help if can x0 -

Hi Woodymeg
I would still go for it, afterall they added this without your authorisation.
Did you want to reclaim on all the ppi from the earlier loans as well.
With the reasons you have go for it, just as long as your protected by other means that is fine, as not all of them can pay out the same time.

Take a look at the reclaiming guide here. There are template letters on for you to use as a guide to put your own reasons for the misselling and make sure you mention both loans and that one was to pay off the other. Also mention you have a mortgage with them that is now in arrears and most probably would not have been if this "excessive" PPi was not added to your loan. You send your letter and have to give the firm 8 weeks for a full and final response.

ALways send all correspondence by recorded delivery and make sure you keep a copy if you are able for future reference and also in case it has to go to the FOS.
Just to make sure, you always make the complaint against the ones that actually sold you the insurance if different to the lender. This goes for both loans so if one used a broker and one direct with the lender then that is two seperate complaints, otherwise just one will be ok with BOTH loans mentioned and dates and account numbers etc...0 -
Update - recieved my letters of acknowledgments from Halifax for 2 x mis-sold PPI, 1 acknowledgement from Littlewoods for PPI and one from Aqua Credit Card for PPI
) Fingers crossed when they look into the case they will find what i want them to

Aliance and Leicester Loan PPI taken in 2007
Amount Recived - £781 :j
Hello All,
After sending just 1 template letter to Aliance and Leicester after discovering im paying PPI added into the loan amount i pay, i recived a confirmation that they are looking into my complaint within the week. Only 2 weeks after sending the original letter through to them i have recived a confirmation that they will be reinbursing me the full ammount £714 with intrest (£67) as "they cannot find enough evidence that i was provided enough information to make a informed decision"
Must say that i have been very impressed with how Aliance and Leicester have delt with this.. Very Profesional.
Also wanted to thank Martin and every other Money Saver who has ever posted their sucsess stories. You have allowed me to become confident enough to start properly managing my money/finances.. something which i have been fairly inept at up until now. :T
Now for My Bank Charges, which i think will be more of a battle .. Bring It on!!0 -

Sapoo21, Was the PPI for your credit card ticked on a credit agreement or requested on the phone?
Capital One was fined for mis selling so you could add that in your letter.
We can't find any other booklet with major long terms and conditions.
Thanks again for any help given.0
