it took 2 weeks for their offer/1st response, then 2 weeks for the cheque so in total a month if you include the cheque being cleared in your bank account.

Hi
I got a loan from Nemo and they sent a letter to say it was originaly from a broker similar to central capital so i have started to go to the broker as they initially set up the loan, so i would say go to central capital and if you do end up going to the FOS they will prob look in to both companys for you
Hi Lemonhead
Have you had any news back from FOS yet about Nemo?
I have already given you the following info on a previous post
We too took a loan out referred by debt buster loans with Nemo in 2006.
we did get a small rebate when we requested a refund/rebate from them
at the time we accepted the really low rebate but grumbled to them about it but they said tough that was all they were going to offer.
that was jan 2007 so when we found out we could go through FOS by Martin Lewis:money:- this site, we sent in the complaint in October 2007 but still waiting for a result.
so would appreciate any info you may have

Are you in the same kind of scenario as me where you signed the papers but was told you had to have the inurance in order to take the loan out and whenI went to cancel it they told me I had to start a whole new agreement0 -

I took a personal loan from the Natwest in 2003 with PPI. The PPI was sold as a single lump sum policy. I refinanced the loan in 2004 but cancelled the PPI. I have recently claimed back nearly £950 on the PPI. The Natwest were very helpful through the whole process although it did take 4 months for settlement to be reached.0

well still worth a try letter should be there now. I assume they write back to you as I left no email or phone number on the letter.0 -
- What were you reclaiming: PPI on sofa purchase
- Who was the provider: DFS/Hitachi Capital
- How much did you get back: #150
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter
- I sent one letter to DFS HQ stating that I was not told that existing medical conditions would not be covered by the policy. Received a telephone call a couple of days later stating that I had no case and also that it was too long ago (only 2005!) - stood my ground and they rang back 10 minutes later confirming that they will refund. Just goes to show it is worth fighting your corner and not backing down!
