PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Have just received phone call from HSBC refunding me £1350.00 which includes the 8% interest as the policy was misold due to my working hours, just sent off letter asking for PPI back in November they then refunded me just over £2700.00 but had forgotten this one, so have just refunded me now for the £1350.00.:beer: :beer: :j :j :j :j :j :j :j

Hi lpinuk,i am trying to claim from adams too,they have refused me so have sent a letter to fos,did you send one to fos too? How long did it take?

Thanks God for this site, I have succesfully reclaimed £3500 for my PPI from Barclays Bank. The first letter that I sent to them had a negative response, I received a 4 pages letter explaining the reasons why I could not get my money back. But I wrote to them again and after waiting for almost two months I received a letter confirming for a new loan for £1000 which will repay the existing loan. The remaining period in my existing loan was 18 months at £256, which works out at about £4500, so the new loan comes for £1000 which will be used to repay the outstanding amount of the existing loan, that means that £3500 of my PPI was reimbursed to my account.

Can anyone help? I have had a success with Northern Rock. I have an EXISTING loan with them and they have replied to say that they will REFUND £1618.00 (yaay!) and give us a new loan amount of what it would have been had we not been paying payment protection (makes sense). How will that refund come to me? To my account? By a form of cheque? Are they allowed to just take it off my loan? surely not as it is MY money (insurance that i have paid??). It has been a day sice they received it and not in my account.. what is general view? Will I receive it by cheque to do you think?

Hi,

We received ours from A&L is the form of a cheque. It said in the letter that it would take 4weeks but it actually arrived in less than a week. I was worried that they would knock it off loan because they can but thankfully they didn't. Unfortunatley we are still waiting for the new paperwork without PPI. I checked the last loan payment and they have included the PPI in the amount. So another £69 they own us.

Thanks, that is helpful. They didn't indicate in what form the payment would be or when when writing with the offer....... i'm guessing they might write to us and let us know?

Hi, didnt go to the FOS. Went to straight to court after sending them 2 letters. They had no defence as the agreement form was not signed and the sales person had no financial background. Hope this helps.

I issue my claim via moneyclaim online 31/12/07, the court issued judgment 21/02/2008. Now awaiting cheque to be processed.

Ok thanks for that it helps when you know someone is succesful,im waiting to see if i get anywhere with fos if not i will try moneyclaim,i didnt sign anything either,i was asked if would like to open an account in the shop but no mention of insurance
