  • I had loans with the Abbey and Direct Line (RB of S). I used your templates and wrote to both these companies in May of 2009 re the calculation of early settlement of my loans. They have both this month (July 2009) repaid me the sums. Abbey £1100.00 and Direct Line £1800.00. I am still waiting on Tesco (RBof S) and Egg. Thank you Thank You Thank You. My kids will have Christmas this year and we have just returned from a weeks holiday in Scarborough paid for using some of the above. :T:beer::money:
  • Hello Martin,

I just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!

After reading this web site i have claimed back the following:

LTSB - I have a loan of £15000. I sent a letter stating that i had been miss sold the PPI. I had not been given an option to opt out of this and assumed that it was something you had to take out.
After numerous letters stating that they were dealing with my request, i finally got an offer of £3500 plus £2500 in interest. This is amazing, Thank you Martin.

I am still waiting on a reply to 2 previous loans that i had with LTSB.
They sent me a letter about 2.5months ago stating that i would have an answer to my complaint within 4weeks. Havent heard anything since. Think this one may have to go to the FO!!!!

LTSB rejected my claim with regards to miss sold PPI on my credit card. This one is on its way to the FO.

I also sent the letter to Egg Creditcard and got refunded £715.

The same with my Marbles Creditcard, who refuned £550.

I am currently waiting on HFC. They replied stating that they would not refund my money. I have since sent the next letter and am waiting a reply!! Think that this one will be going to the FO as well.

I have been rejected by MBNA although i strongly believe that this was miss sold. There was a little section on the application form that stated they stongly advised that i take it out, i had no other input on this and ticked the box, feeling that i had to. I am about to send the next letter to them. Will wait and see.

Thank you so so much. This website has changed my life. :T

Congratulations on getting your money back. After 8 months i've had a letter from the financial ombudsman today saying that Welcome Finance have agreed they mis-sold my policy and will refund my money plus pay 200 pounds compensation for 'distress caused' by refusing my request for a refund in November last year. No idea how much I will get as the letter didn't say - think I must have to wait for Welcome to contact me direct. Anyone have a clue how to calculate refunds due??

I had a loan with Welcome and was knocked back for a PPI refund as the date was 1 month before the FOS started regulating. Has this changed and should I pursue. I took the loan out and also paid it back in 2003,
    thanks in anticipation.......

I had success for a friend yesterday with nationwide. They had fleeced him with PPI on a Nationwide creditcard despite ill health and the fact it was mis-sold. He's getting 3850 back and so delighted. Thanks to all for the helpful information.

    Hi Shamrock

I am aware that some have contacted the FOS in regards of these "Single policies" and have been told to re-submit, so it may be worth you giving them a call as well to see what they say to be sure, good luck.;)
