  • All, any advise from the experts would be greatly appreciated as I need to reply to the FOS by 27th February whether I accept their decision of not upholding my PPI complaint. Many thanks in advance!
  • Can't believe it, just got a letter from Lloyds TSB offering to settle for £482.07!!! I know this isn't a massive amount of money compared to some but it's coming from LTSB and that's good enough for me!

    Thanks Martin.

  • Receved a final response from the dreaded firstplus this morning they say
"having consided the complaint the senior managers of firstplus are willing to reach an agreement with me in an attempt to reach a mutually agreeable outcome."
offering an enhanced rebate on pro-rata basis of 78% of the insured premium which is £4.193.72 in addition to £1.135.79

they of course are admitting no liability
    they go on
"this amount will be applied to the loan account and the ppi cancelled "
    my questions are
    can they do this?
will i still be paying the additional ppi premium for the loan term?
    any advice would be helpfull
  • Chives - Did they say what your adjusted monthly payments would be? How much do you save per month? If not alot would it be better to persue for the whole amount? Just a thought

Perhaps contact them and ask. They should also send it in writing

  • You can have the amount by cheque....after all its your money. If they say no keep on at them.Try and hold out for more.Get a copy of the telephone call and hear for yourself. They could say and do anything to shut you up.
We are doing the same at the moment.I want the whole premium refunded and owe nothing apart from the loan.

  • My wife and I both took out loans from a high street bank in January 2005. After looking at your website last year, we decided we had both been mis-sold the loan protection on our single premium policy loans. Using the template available on this site, we sent off to the bank stating why we thought we had been mis-sold the insurance. The bank replied on both cases that they could not find the details of the meeting between their representative and ourselves and as such, were prepared to reimburse us the full amount of the loan protection plus 8% interest for both loans. The only condition attached was that we both had to sign forms saying that once the money had been paid back, we could no longer pursue the bank on any other issues in relation to the two loans.

Considering that my loan was for £25000 and wife's was for £15000, the total amount that our loan's were reduced by allowed us to use some of our savings to pay off my loan completely and reduce my wife's loan balance to £3000.

Excellent website that saved us a fortune!!!
