hi my husband received a reply regarding his PPI claim from Natwest, i am just wondering if they will send a cheque because his account has been closed because he is now on DMP and he has 1 month arrears on his loan.
As Di thinks if you owe no more to them then I would assume they would send a cheque less what you owe them.

Hi all, just to keep you up to date with our claim against EGG and miss selling of PPI on our loans. After 18 months the FOS has given a final decision in our favour, Egg must now pay back all PPI all interest and £300 compensation, + 8% simple interest surely two years ago when we first sent our letter to Egg if they had paid back the PPi it would have been cheaper for them! Can I also ask what happens next do Egg have to pay or can they still drag there feet?

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't worry though, they will make the money back from US somehow. Well done to you and what a wait!!!
  • reclaimed from Egg card using the template letter on this site. Only sent the one letter asking them to refund all PPI charges as I felt I was unfairly sold the policy. Got a letter today saying that they would credit my account in 3-5 days for £850!!! What a touch!
Next up MBNA, have a feeling they won't be as forthcoming...

SO they are crediting it back to your account then? This seems to be the way that Egg do these redresses now and I have seen where FOS have said its OK also in some cases. I think Egg are afraid of people defaulting on their cards etc in this climate and they want their share first. I am glad you are pleased with it. At least it reduces your debt with them which is a good thing too.

I'm currently at work, my dad gave me the good news earlier. I'm reasonably happy, although I want to check to see if that is the correct amount. Just checked my account though and so far they have only credited £709 weirdly enough. Good news it has reduced my min payments by half.

What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
Who was the provider: Alliance & Leicester
How much did you get back: £173.54
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: A&L kept stalling, so sent claim to FOS 31.12.08.
And then write your brief reclaim tale

I was forced into taking PPI on my loan in November 2006. I vividly remember telling the lady on the phone that I did not want this insurance, but she said that I had to have it. I managed to get it reduced at the time, but not dropped.

I wrote to A&L in October last year, after having read about PPI reclaiming on here. A&L continued to tell me they were still looking into it and weren't sure how long it would be before I got an answer. I decided to put my claim in with the FOS and sent it off on New Year's Eve.

I got a letter from the FOS yesterday to say that A&L have reviewed my case and have offered me £173.54, which includes interest. This is the amount they have charged me on PPI to date. They did say that they hadn't personally investigated it in depth yet and that this was just through negotiation with A&L and if I wanted to reject it then I had to give my reasons and it would take longer for them to investigate it fully.

I'm absolutely overjoyed and have obviously accepted and sent my confirmation letter off today.

It may not seem like a lot of money to some, but it certainly is to me (see my signature!) and it is money that was always rightfully mine that I didn't want taken from me. Another one up against the banks.

Thanks so much to Martin and this wonderful website :T

It would be good if everybody said, how long the entire process took.
