    Hi Guys

Having only been a casual visitor to your site for advice / templates, I thought it about time to register. Only really to let you know that i have today recieved a letter of "A Goodwill Gesture" to the tune of £319.05, for a refund of my Mortgage PPI. That took only one letter and was dealt with in 9 weeks.

Only one more claim on a PPI for loan protection. That was a single premium and should be an "Award" of around £7500. Fingers Crossed, I shall keep you posted.

    Keep fighting the fight.

    Gareth

Well done and congratulations Gareth, fab news this :T:T:beer::T:T
And good luck with the other case.;)

    Hi All

Great to hear of everyone’s successes, it seems my claim is taking a lot longer than most.
I started my claim with Egg for 5 Loans held at different time between 2003-2004 back in February 2007. Egg took the usual 8 weeks to come back and say i didn’t have a claim. I then took my claim to the ombudsman who took over 18 months to assign it to an adjudicator who after a few weeks ruled in my favour. They sent Egg their decision which was ignored, so the adjudicator then passed it onto an Ombudsman for a final decision. This has taken another month and they have now come back agreeing with the adjudicator (in my favour) and asked me to respond to accept or decline their decision.
I am assuming this must now be near the end, i have absolutely no idea how much my claim will be, as the loans overlapped one another and one paid off another, and they were all settled early. I expect it to be a few hundred pounds, plus 8% interest for a few years, plus the £300 compensation the ombudsman has insisted they also pay. I worry a bit that Egg may also struggle to work out exactly what they need to pay and this may be why they have not settled already. Is this likely and if it is what will they do?
Has anyone else had a claim that has taken so long? Is it possible Egg will still just ignore the decision, if so what then?

    Many thanks

    Carl

    Hiya Carl

And well done success at last for you.:T:beer::T

Now the FOS expect them to send you a full written breakdown of calculations, they also have a copy.
I would ask the adjudicator if they have the figures with them yet, and if they have if they could send them to you.

Here is the link below that Maxdp posted in regards of how the FOS calculate the refunds, and if there is anything amiss you can go back to them and they will check this out for you, good luck.;)

    Thanks jos004,
It was a loan from Capital One.
  • hi my husband received a reply regarding his PPI claim from Natwest, i am just wondering if they will send a cheque because his account has been closed because he is now on DMP and he has 1 month arrears on his loan.

Hi hun if his account is closed it will possibly be a cheque.
They will probably deduct the one months loan arrears.

I think this is what may happen but maybe someone on the DFW thread will confirm, good luck.;)
