After initially contacting Barclays in November 2008 about mis-sold PPI on a Barlclays loan (was told it was a condition of taking out the loan that you had to take their PPI) and getting the run around from Barclays for three months (culminating in a 'we are sorry but we are unable to respond at this time' letter) referred the matter to the Ombudsman.
On May 7 received a letter saying Ombudsman had judged in my favour and Barclays had agreed to pay nearly £2000 back (including interest).
So success - or so it seems..... Since then Barclays dragging their heals and 4 weeks on no sign of payment. Have spoken to Barclays Customer Relations and Head office but they are unable to speak to the team who handle the payments as they only have a voicemail. They have apparently emailed them asking them to call me but they dont know when that will be or if they even call customers.
Back to the Ombudsman!
Hi
Barclays are a pain arent they?
Mine went through the FO also and I ended up having the claim upheld.3 weeks after the decision I received a letterlfrom Barclays advising of the calculation of the refund. This was 2 days ago so not had money yet.
Have you not even had this letter yet telling you how it will be worked out?0 -

Hiya Kazdolly
So I take it that British Credit Trust were not the ones who sold you the finance then?
It is usually the ones who sold and arranged your finance that you have to complain to, but you can always check on this with the FOS if you want to, but this is normally the way in regards of reclaiming PPI.
I remember being passed on by the FOS to the FLA with one of mine and as the company were not registed by them the FLA could not help either, this was very frustrating.
But I would contact the FOS as soon as you can next week so they can look into this for you.
I was reading on the FOS site and they can also do this on your behalf by writing to the company for you.;)
Good luck and hope this gets sorted out.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
