Hi well 17th march i rec'd £1100 from hsbc. I realised i had another loan and banged letter in again to Hsbc. Thought it would be for about £300. Got letter today £1160! I queried it apparantly HSBC looked at all my credit agreemens and refunded me that backalso without asking!
I must admit HSBC were fantastic really helpful! I have even sent them a compliment letter on there customer service!
Thanks for everyone help!!!!
Oooh some nice feedback for once,I'd love to have a customer like you! Most of the ones who are happy with the services don't bother letting you know but it can make all the difference.
Well done! :T:T0 -
The problem is I was desperate for a loan at that time and I know I would have agreed to anything. So if that is on the recording I'm beat, or am I? I also told them my company where I have worked for 26 years have a sick scheme with full pay for 6 months. They weren't interested in knowing how serious my pre existing condition was either.
I will write back to them and also request a copy of the recording.
Thanks to you and Di for your advice and support.
Fingers crossed.0 -

I have heard call recordings where the customer did agree to it but it was obviously pushed on to them, or it was clear the customer didn't fully understand so you may have a chance.
For example there was one where the customer kept saying no and the advisor kept pushing until eventually the customer said "I'm not going to get rid of you unless I say yes am I?" and the advisor said "No you're not" (This was completely against procedures by the way and unfortunately (or fortunately I suppose!) the seller no longer worked for the company so he couldn't even be b*******d for it
Needless to say this guy got his money back!
Good luck, I hope all works out for you0 -

Hi all,
I have been locking horns with Welcome Finance for a while to claim back my PPI on a small loan I took out in 2007.
To cut a long story short, I ended up going through the FOS and my complaint was seen in my favour. Welcome have agreed to pay me £490 + £200 Compensation + 8% Interest.
The FOS sent me a confirmation letter a few weeks ago and told me to expect contact soon from Welcome, truth is, after reading some of the horror stories on these forums, am I likely to recieve anything back anytime soon??
I do hope so, as the money would be nice in my pocket again :-)0 -

Hi there
Well done and Congratulations.:beer::T:beer:
In regards of one of mine, not WF though, when ours was resolved with the FOS, they did tell me to let them know if we not heard after a month of accepting the offer, and they will chase them up.
And I was also told that if in finanical difficulty is to let them know, so they can deal with this matter quicker, hope you receive your payout soon.;)
I am aware that these companies have so many refunds to deal with, but I would ask the adjudicator, how long should you give them before contacting the adjudicator, as they may have their own timescale, although I assume it is a month, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi ross21096,
I wouldn't believe anything Welcome Finance tell you, they're only looking to offer you a meager amount in comparison to what you could claim back if you decided to do it yourself (forms are on this site!) or through a claims company. They do this and then most people think, 'great, £600 is brilliant!' when in reality, they just don't want you to use your initiative and get the money back yourself (which would be a considerable larger amount than they are offering you)
Just out of interest, how much was your PPI?

Thanks for the advice Southmoss!
The more advice that is freely available, the easier it is for everyone to understand how this whole PPI/loan thing works.
Can I ask though, what you mean by secret commission?0
