    Hi there

They have a full 8 weeks to respond in full.

If they don't get back to you at all by then, you can move on to the FOS.

Did you post your letter by recorded delivery?
This way you should know if they have received your letter, by checking this out on the Royal Mail Website "tracking".;)

Good luck, hope you hear something soon, let us know if any problems.;)

    Hi, My name's David, I'm a newbie :)

Thought I'd share my PPI story.

First of all, I started hearing about all this PPI stuff last year but it was quite confusing to me, thankfully this forum has helped clear a lot of stuff up, so I'd recommend it to anyone to anyone who'll listen!

I had a loan with RBS about 5 years ago for £8,000.
After discovering I was wrongly sold this PPI, I decided to claim it all back but I had no idea who to go to or how to go about it.
I had a leaflet dropped through my door advertising a company called Free PPI Claims, I noticed they were based in Penwortham, which is really close to where I live.

I contacted them and they informed me that I can reclaim my PPI, they gave me an estimate amount of how much I can claim back, and they told me they would come and visit me personally to discuss my case.

Well, I'm glad they did, they handled my case for free! It didn't cost me a thing.
At first, I was hesistant about the company as it sounded too good to be true, so I checked them out on the M.O.J website (which I would recommend other users do before dealing with a company ;) and turns out they're trading under a company called Feather Finance, so they're definitely regulated.

So I went ahead with my claim with them, and they ended up claiming back a massive amount for me (about £3,657 with compensation) and it didn't cost me a thing, the only downside I might point out is that there was quite a bit of paperwork, but one of their representatives went through it with me, so it wasn't too bad.

Not sure if they're national or not, but to anyone that lives in/near Lancashire I would suggest checking them out.

    Hope this helps someone!

    Hi David

    Wow, Congratulations on your win.:T:beer::T

May I ask how long this taken from start to finish?

You are right in checking out the claims companies out, as there are some out there that charge upfront fees etc, and always get plenty of advice before using these companies.

    Well done anyway.

  • hi all

Not sure what to do next....basically hfc sent my hubby a letter on the 24th march saying we will be sending you a full refund of your ppi premium, plus the interest that has been charged on the premium. we anticipate it will take 6-8 weeks for your refund to be issued...

He phoned them today as 8 weeks is up tomorrow, and was told the sum hasn't even been calculated yet and before you even get the cheque you have to sign and return an acceptance form (which we havent received yet).

In the letter my hubby sent the bank on the 18th March he asked for the matter to be concluded within in 8 weeks.

any suggestions what to do next

    Hi there

I am aware they have large volumes of these refunds to deal with, but a little nudge will do no harm.

You could contact them and ask them when should you be receiving this, and if your struggling financially let them know they may move this on and pay this out quicker for you, good luck and Well done.
Any further probs, contact the financial ombudsman service and see what they may suggest if you want to.
