Just to let everyone know, i have successfully reclaimed mis sold PPI from a loan i took out of Lloyds tsb in 2005. Martin was right. The first letter i got back from the bank said i had signed the agreement so tough luck basically but i pursued and my claim was passed to the ombudsman. Shortly after i received a letter from the bank apologizing and offering £100 + all PPI i had paid+ interest within 12 weeks. Today was the day i woke up and found an extra £1400 in my account. Result. Thank you. I never would have done something like this before but times are desperate. Good luck to all .0

Well done Sarah.:beer::T:beer:
About 95% of these complaints are rejected directly by Lloyds TSB, where mostly resolved through the FOS.;)

Thought I should post this here. I wrote to Bank of Scotland towards the end of January this year saying I believed I had been mis-sold a PPI policy. They wrote back saying they would look into it. They looked into it and decided I had been mis-sold the policy and they refunded to me (to my loan account to reduce the outstanding loan - not in my hand) the premiums I had already paid plus the 8% interest and have reduced my monthly payments. I received the letter confirming this yesterday so it has taken a total of 3 months and 8 days from start to finish. I only wrote one letter.
:TMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
Mortgage today = £161,690.76
300 271 payments to go.House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000

Hi All
A Little advise would be greatly welcomed.
Started a PPI claim with Egg over 18 months ago now, to cut a long story short, i didn’t get anywhere with Egg so progressed to the Financial Ombudsman who took ages to start dealing with my complaint. Finally received a call last week from an adjudicator, who asked me some questions. Following this i received a letter from him informing me he finds in my favour and included a copy of the letter he sent to Egg informing them to refund everything putting me in the position i would have been if i had not had PPI, plus £300 compensation on top and they have until 12 May to agree or disagree.
My questions are, i have no idea how much PPI i am reclaiming as i had 4 loans from 5,000 - 15,000 with egg over long periods (but paid off after 1 or 2 years), each paid off the previous and then the final loan was paid off in full 2.5 years ago. Im sure that each time the loans are paid off early majority of the PPI is refunded before a new PPI is set up.
I can not see how Egg can/will work this figure out in 2 weeks?
How will i know this amount is correct?
Are there cases out there where the bank rejects the adjudicators opinion, i know its possible but has anyone heard of it happening?
Many thanks

Thanks amersall. I wasn't in arrears and I have never missed or been late with a payment in the 2 years I have had the loan so far. This has been suggested to me before but I decided that because it is not really a big amount (in comparison to my outstanding loan!!!), I might as well have it reduce my loan amount rather than spend it unnecessarily. If it was £2000 I would definitely think a bit differently! It is money I thought was gone so I won't miss it.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
