Hi all
Is it usual for 1 complaint to be rectified much after others with the same company and what would be the reasoning? As I previously stated, I sent off to RBS and have had 3 out of the 5 refunded, 1 with nothing but am still awaiting the result of the final one....just thought it unusual as I completed them all at the same time and received the texts/letters back from them at the same time too? Thank you as always!

The reasoning would be the different length of time to gather and review the evidence.0

The money was credited to my account yesterday and have been told by RBS/Natwest that they have upheld my final claim with them, though said they were unable to tell me the amount? Spent some time yesterday complaining about my parent's past accounts...dad did 24 years in the army and didn't require any sort of ppi (he was abroad)...have had 3 letters form my OHs MBNA account(s) - he only thought he had one, but his ex was a bit of a spender...awaiting results for the above! Happy and much more settled now the first few have come back and paid! Good luck allYou only get one life - but if you live it properly - it's enough! :rotfl:0

Hi All
I contacted Natwest at the end of July this year about an old account if had with then for over 20 years.
I had asked them to look into a loan that I'd taken out in 1993, that I believed I had been mis-sold PPI.
It was very easy to contact them. I used their online form and any information I didn't have it couldn't remember I left blank.
I didn't remember my account number but I gave them my previous addresses.
Natwest kept me informed by text message and email.
Today I received 2 letters saying that I had been successful in my claim.
One amount is for £58
The other amount is for £648 !!! :j :T
Over £700 in total !!!
All I needed to do to receive the money was to sign a form agreeing to the amounts and post it back in the stamped addressed envelope provided.
The letter states that the money will be sent to me as a cheque within 28 days.
Very pleased and all it took was a 5 minute form.
Thank you to MSE & this forum for all your advice as i wouldn't have known I could have claimed. :money:0 -
Success! Lloyds TSB No paperwork, but I did check back as far as I could go (to 2003) with my online bank account (now just TSB) so was able to quiz them about 2 mortgage accounts, filled in the form, 1 hour phone call where I was very vague as the mortgages went back to 1995, and a month later was paid back £6k. I claimed the Plevin rule.
Wondering if I should have accepted the first offer, though I didn't have much chance not to as they transferred it to my bank account within days of the letter.
Definitely worth checking.
A few weeks after this I got another letter stating they have upheld another 4 loans and will send another £6k - I didn't even claim for these as had forgotten about the loans. Happy days! :T :j0 -
Upheld Halifax loan complaint on loan from 2004/5.
Didn’t fill in the massive form they sent and still received an upheld decision.
Will receive just under £2,500.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

Completely new to this and hopefully someone can help
Our mortgage of £22400 was taken out in 1993, we had £9000 in savings - proof supplied (and in the same branch of the Leeds Building Society) and 1/2 share in a detached farmhouse with 4 acres of land, as completely naive first time buyers we took out PPI, on our questionnaire we stated that our savings covered 5 x more than the PPI policy would have paid, we were both in stable full time employment and our assets more than covered a shortfall should the need arise. As we had no other financial commitments or dependants as long as one of us was employed our mortgage payments would have been more than covered.
The mortgage was arranged in branch and in person
Halifax and the Financial Ombudsman have turned down our claim stating that the policy was appropriate, our savings were insufficient and it would have taken time to sell our 1/2 share in the farmhouse and land and in that time we could have lost the house we had the mortgage on, they feel we were not pressurised into buying the policy and that it was probably explained in full.
Is there anything further we can do?0 -
No. Once FOS have rejected your complaint, you're out of options.0
