PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Well I have posted before elsewhere about the fact that I sent Egg a template form this site re their PPI on a loan and they came back in my favour. Only thing is they have put it on my loan. I wrote to them asking for a cheque as I was uptodate on repayments and they have refused stating its thier policy. Have called the Financial OMbudsman and have lodged a complaint. Has anybody been paid out by cheque by Egg before??? Really miffed as also have one of their credit cards which they have bumped up from 15.9 to 26.9% APR and I wanted to that and another card off.
Hi there
Well done anyway.:T:beer:
If you read back on these threads you will also see many posts like yours.
It seems they just vary from one company to another, I know again that many prefer to have the refund pay directly to them if no missed payments/arrears where they do tend to do this automatically if that is the case.
They have bumped that up haven't they?
On this particular matter, check out the credit card thread, posters who post on that thread regularly may be able to help out in this matter, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Thanks di3004, I was just browsing the forums and came across this one.
My husband and I have a loan with Welcome and I am 100% certain we were miss sold the ppi. I will be looking out my documents first thing tomorrow to make sure. Not sure how much my loan was for but we pay back £185 a month and I am sure this is over about 10 years!!!
My husband applied for this over the phone but I know if he was offered not to take the insurance we would not have taken it.
I assume that most people have been successful in reclaming?
Thanks x0 -

Hi there
If you require further information, it may be worth your while requesting a SAR if these were taken out over the last 6years, there is a template SAR letter on this thread here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553
With details.
The SAR, this should provide everything requested in the SAR going back as far as 5 or 6 years depending on where you live, but there is a cost of £10 cheque or postal order payment for this request, they have 40 days to comply.
Remember to post all letters by recorded delivery.
If you have the agreements though that will help, although you do not have to write the amount in the reclaim letter at this stage.;)
Yes there have been much success with these, and some still fighting their claims, but if the company themselves do not resolve this you can always try the financial ombudsman service (FOS) if eligible, the final letter should give you details of these if this is the case, good luck.XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Morning all,
Well i had at last some good news this weekend, got an unexpected letter from RBS about a loan in 2004, they offered me a goodwill gesture of almost the amount i was claiming off them, so sent the acceptence letter back straight away.
They had been messing me about with paperwork for over 18months,i had sent the forms off to the FOS and they rung my up asking for more information, i told them that RBS were being really slow and kept fobbing me off, so they(FOS) got in contact with RBS on my behalf and with 6 weeks of this happening an offer was on my doorstep.
So for you still waiting dont give up hope, im just waiting for capital 1 now but im not holding my breath for this one as its my biggest claim.Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0 -
