PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi.
I have been meaning to post about this for a while.
I contacted my bank in 2014 about ppi. It was free to do and only took 1 phone call. as a result, my bank offered me over £2500 in compensation. I accepted the offer and quickly received payment. Very happy with the result.
Then. Earlier this year, I received a further letter from my bank stating that they now thought they had miscalculated my claim and they paid me a further £1800.
It didn't cost me. A penny to make my claim.
I would encourage everyone to look into ppi compensation🎄PAYDBXMAS21 #11 £11,300/£11300

Hi just thought I'd tell people that I didn't think I'd have any chance of any ppi but I sent off the forms and in total I have had over £7k back from ppi and a mis sold bank account package.
I've also had a response from marbles saying that ppi was on my account but they have no records so they can't calculate any redress. I'm referring this on to the financial ombudsman but I wondered if anyone has had a similar experience and what the outcome was and the timescale.
Thanks!0 -
I filled in the online PPI form on Barclays website about an old Woolwich endownment and got £795 refunded, was not really expecting to get anything so a nice surprise. Took about 10 weeks to come through.0

In 2013 I went ahead and made a claim for a PPI Refund, it was upheld and I received approximately £6000.00 of which half was taken to pay off what I still owed the Bank and was paying off via CCCS at the time.
Then about 3 months ago, out of the blue, a PPI Claims Company contacted me via phone, they knew everything about my loans and prior PPI claim, they told me that the Bank (Lloyds) still owed me money, and they sent me reclaim paperwork. I didn't like what I saw on the forms, boxes ticked that I felt should not be ticked, so I decided not to go any further with them and ignored all further calls.'
Lo and behold, this week I have received another PPI Refund cheque from Lloyds for over £4000.00. :j
NOW, my nasty suspicious mind is working overtime, did that PPI Claims company have prior knowledge that I was about to receive that refund, and were hoping to cash in......! :eek:0 -

You were right to be suspicious. Some time ago, it was reported that Lloyds (and some other banks) had to go back over past complaints and review the outcomes. This has lead to many getting increased amounts or previous rejections overturned.
The CMC that contacted you was probably hoping to get in on the act by making it look like it was them who caused this extra amount to be paid.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Credit card with Capital one taken out in 2008. Was certain that it was done by phone but capital one have responded saying it was done online and there was a 30 day period for cancelling. Perhaps I phoned up after taking it out but I have no proof to show when the call took place0

Unfortunately, taking the PPI out online means that you mis-bought the insurance because (since no Bank staff were present) it cannot have been mis-sold to you.0 -
I had a personal loan with Nationwide some years ago and PPI was included in the loan but I only worked part time. I filled in the forms and got back £665. I expected it to be a hassle. I would urge anyone to fill in the forms and just do it. A work colleague of mine is going through the process with my coaxing too.0

After over 2 yrs chasing up and first getting turned down by Yorkshire Bank, I wrote to the FO and have just been awarded £1,782. I wasn't sure if I would get turned down as I had written the letter myself but it worked! Now to encourage my hubby who didnt believe in it all and he is still paying PPI on the mortgage!Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0

Hi! I am about to complain to the under writers for three secured loans I had pre 2005 and I wondered if anyone had a template letter I could use or use parts of to get my complaint written the correct way.
I have written my own in the past but I am guessing the complaint letter to an under writer might need certain facts or information that I may leave out.
This is for my complaint on three secured loans pre 2005, that's why im having to complain to the insurance company.
Thanks0
