You can spend £10 (of your £63) on a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter to see exactly what they still hold on file for you. However, the only realistic way you will receive more than they are offering is if you have evidence of having paid more in your own archive. If you have no such evidence, I'd just enjoy your £63.

Yes as you said before....funny how they knew I had ppi..but not how much I paid ,well I will send £10, (of my £63) and I will enjoy the rest!!..Thank you :j

This is often the case, I'm afraid, especially with old finance. Banks usually destroy the details of such finance after six years.
Spending a sixth of your redress in a misguided attempt to prove the Bank to be liars is unwise in my opinion because you're very very likely to be disappointed by what the SAR returns.
Unless you have proof of payment from your own archive, the chances of you getting any further with this are remote.

No conspiracy there. The account code would be loan with PPI or loan without PPI for example. That record would exist long after statements and other documents have been destroyed.

I got a letter about PPI on an old MBNA card over a month back, saying I may have been mis-sold.

I filled in the forms, sent them off and received a reply that they believed it wasn't mis-sold.

Just thought 'fair enough', and forgot about it.

Got a letter through the door on Saturday morning saying that they'd reviewed my complaint again and upheld it. Cheque's in the post.

    Bonus. :)
  • I had 2 of these cards dating back about 10 years ago. I put in claims for both. (They are like twins!)
I just picked a little over £550 for one last week. The other one strangely was rejected, so I'll go the long haul of 18 months with an Ombudsman complaint.
This first one is perhaps the first of a few I'm working on.

No point complaining that one complaint was upheld while the other rejected, that's not a valid complaint reason.
  • Fantastic website - I spent five minutes reading up on what to write over two policies with CPP since 2005.

    I received a cheque for £600 today.

No legal fees to pay either!

    Thanks

I have had my first PPI success! I complained on behalf of my husband and he has received £2400 back from MBNA. Thank you to everyone on this forum who is giving us the confidence to go ahead and make complaints when we know we have been mis-sold.
