This was from June 2000 for an EGG loan from Prudential Banking so send all your complaints to above address as they deal with this now. I did not even have an account number so you will still be on record.0 -
it means exactly what it says. They will have to exitimate how much you spent, and how much you were charged for PPI.
Thanks Taff to quote the letter it says the FOS expect HSBC to make some reasonable assumptions about the account based on what it knows about the spending habits and the effect of ppi on the accounts of its overall customer base, in order to make an offer of fair compensation. This sounds to me like they have to look at not only our account? is this correct, if so this is what i dont understand and how can they calculate what they will pay us by looking at other accounts, could this work in our favour? Anyway at least we will get more than the insulting first offer.0 -
I never thought of claiming on my mis-sold PPI policies because I thought I was way out of time. My husband and I took out loans and credit cards in the mid 80's to mid 90's with PPI policies which we did not need. After reading Martin's advice on his website I thought I'd give it a go. All I had were account numbers and nothing else. Within 2 months we've had almost £16,000 paid back to us. What I hadn't realised was, that the banks also include ppi policies on any previous loans etc. which were consolidated. So when I gave Lloyd's bank one account number, they checked all previous connected accounts and we received nearly £13,000 from them. Barclay's, however are a little more tricky and we are forwarding this one to the ombudsman.... Happy Days.... Thank you MSE0

What got me started on reclaiming PPI was a letter from Welcome Finance stating that I might be owed PPI. I think this is what all firms are meant to do but none of them will cough up money unless they have do. Welcome have pulled out of NI and I am not sure if they are still around.
I filled out the forms and sent them to
