  • Had a loan with Mercantile Credit Liverpool owned by Barclays in 1990s so I sent questionnaire off to Barclays in Canary Wharf but of course they could not find me as I no longer had the account no.

Read in a thread here that if I wrote to

    Barclays Assurance
    Policy Administration Department
    PO Box 12146
    Dublin 2,
    Ireland

they would provide me with a copy of my PPI and they did. Have sent this to Canary Wharf and they have acknowledged this and are looking into it.

6 weeks later with no reply. I do not know IF I am sending my complaint to the right address as I have read elsewhere that complaints should be sent to Barclays Marine Finance.

    Can anyone help with this?
  • Can anyone help with this?

Had a loan with United Dominions Trust in 2000 but only have a bank statement to show proof of payment

Where would I need to send a SAR to is it the address in

    Lloyds TSB
    PPI Customer Relations
    Tredegar Park
    south Wales
    NP 10 8SB

I have tried Black Horse who cannot find me as I Thought they were the firm that took over United Dominions Trust.

    can anyone help?
  • I have a friend who was turned down for PPI by Halifax and she went to the Ombudsman who ruled in her favour giving Halifax until 16/04/13 to pay out. 6 months later and still no response. Can a firm keep defying an Ombudsman ruling.

Has anyone else been shafted this way?

2 other friends have been turned down by Nationwide and it seems Building Societies/banks are harder to get money out of.

You need to provide evidence. You could try sending them a SAR and £10 - see the front page sticky and see what comes back. Very likely nothing will, but that is your last hope to show you paid it before 2004.

If they acknowledged then you have to give them 8 weeks to respond, contact them when the 8 weeks is up and see how the claim is going.

:j Well done on your wins thus far and thanks for the addresses.

I doubt a Sar would help as this was 13 years ago, give it a try though as you never know.
Have you a Lloyds near you? if so then take the request into branch and title it DSAR request or post it to your local branch, you could ask at branch if they can find you before you send the DSAR and save yourself a tenner.

Don't forget to ask for all info they hold on you and not specific items, if the loan account number is on the statement you have then use that.

The FOS are as much use as a chocolate fireguard :D they will give the bank as much leeway as possible.

Tell your friend to email the ceo regarding this.
