  • I had a Surprise letter from NRAM (Northern Rock administrators) asking me to return a form about PPI, which I did, they then sent me £1510 within 4 weeks!!!:j Totally unexpected.
    That was February this year.

I'm now starting a claim with the FSCS against Loanmakers, but I'm well confused by how much I should expect back!!! :o

Well done - did the same with my dad, wrote letter of complaint for him, they rang with some questions, complaint upheld to the tune of £18,000!!!!

Don't give up indeed - oh and do it yoursef too!!!:T:T:T:beer::beer:

Yes my parents couldn't believe how easy it was. They initially rang Lloyds to see if they had any of their old loan paperwork. Straight away the bank said we will put a ppi claim in for you and told them all the loans they had it on.
  • Does anyone know how long the FOS are taking with claims these days? I submitted two complaints in December 2012. Got a letter the other day apologising for the delay but it didn't indicate how much longer things will take.
  • Hi all,
Started my complaints for mis-selling of PPI at the beginning of June this year, they were:

MBNA- Loan, no paperwork except from one old crumpled up statement, made a call, they sent a form, upheld for £1011- CHQ rec'd and banked.

Egg- Loan, no paperwork at all, found an account number from going back through online banking statements and it went back as far as 2004! lucky me, printed the form off FOS site, sent to Canada Square, they asked to confirm ID as I have moved, another letter apologising for the delay, then finally letter sent, upheld for £3051-awaiting CHQ

RBS CC with MINT- limited statements, called MINT, they sent me a questionnaire, I sent back, they called to confirm a few details which I answered as honestly as I could, letter today- goodwill with no liability- £461- posted acceptance back today

Now the ones I'm waiting on:
Welcome finance- They say sold through a broker, the broker said my loan and PPI was sold by welcome they just did the 'hotkey transfer?' no idea what that's about but gone back to Welcome and am waiting for response.

MBNA CC - Virgin Money, refused with final response, few errors with their investigation and what they have stated, they sent me a 'cut and paste' copy of my acceptance of PPI on the 13th April 05, no-where does it mention PPI, they included a 'timestamp' document which shows a date of 'paymentprot' as being already added as a yes- document is dated 28th March 05? So I have sent a letter asking them to have another look before I go to the Ombudsman

Halifax CC- called Halifax, they confirmed PPI on CC and sent me a form, I have answered some questions when they called me and am now waiting a response.

To be honest, I am happy that I have won half my claims!!! so far 4.5k just for filling out a few forms, answering a few questions on the telephone and a little waiting- but so worth the wait:beer:

I had a claim with First Direct Bank and Littlewoods. My first success was with a single account I had with First Direct which paid out £157.00. I then contacted Littlewoods catalogue over the telephone about Agent Care 500 insurance and despite having to get a little bit stroppy with them they have agreed to pay me back £97. My greatest sucess however was with First Direct for joint account - I received a letter today stating that they had upheld my complaint on my account and were willing to refund me £8,361.44! I am absolutely ecstatic and want to thank MSE for giving me the courage to apply. I am a very happy bunny.
