I know! Here's hoping eh! I've just not seen many posts on here at all recently about London Scottish, and as they rejected my complaint before, wasn't holding out much hope! Oh well. If anything comes of it will be a wee bonus! Thanks. Jo x

    • What were you reclaiming: Credit Card Protection
    • Who was the provider: CPP via Alliance & Leicester
    • How much did you get back: £271.18 plus interest
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Sent the claim off a few weeks back, following a phone call from Santander, a letter arrived this week with the refund offer.
When I received a new debit card from A&L I had to telephone the number on the front of the card in order to activate the card.
During the activation call, I was persuaded that I should take out the CPP policy as it would protect my cards.
With the recent news about CPP I initially rung them who told me that A&L had 'sold' the policy on their behalf and that I should claim from Santander.
I downloaded a PPI claim form, filled it out and my claim was successful.

Great news! Can I ask, how much was the interest for?

To the board guides: is there any way we can have a separate thread or Q&A thread for CPP as it tends to get lost in all the PPI stuff.

    Completely amazed!

As far as I was aware, I didn't ever have any PPI on anything. But received a questionnaire from MBNA a couple of weeks ago, advising that I *may* have been missold PPI on a credit card I took out in 2005.

Filled it in, sent it back, letter today (after 2 wks) advising complaint upheld, and £601 to be paid by cheque within 28 days!!

Totally amazed and over the moon!
So glad to hear of someone with a success story from MBNA as I sent a letter to them last year and am now awaiting for FO to look into my case. Fingers x

    Hi all

I was working at home today when I got a call from sainsburys bank think it was bank of Scotland as I have claim in for my PPi on my card He started asking me questions and some I felt were trying to put words on my mouth I made it clear re my work package but did not feel I believed that he wrote what I said I Also made the offer if need me to get proof from work of my cover but he was not that bothered and it not require it

I did not have this with tesco or FD at all and was wondering did other people have this experience

I guess the thing that I really am not comfortable with is they write down whats said but their version when I tried to add in extra information or elaborate was not interested

What were you reclaiming: PPI on a £7,000 loan
    Who was the provider: HSBC
How much did you get back: £1,900+
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 2 phone calls - one to HSBC, one from them to clarify details (same as what is on the Ombudsman form)

I was off work for 4 months in 2004 following an injury which required surgery. One month full pay, 2 half pay, then SSP. Ran up some debts - inlcuding bank charges - and got out an over draft, and I think used a credit card for the first time. Decided to take out a loan to give me some breathing space while I got back on my feet. Loan and PPI was sold to me face to face in branch. I didn't really want PPI, but they guy kept saying it would be a good thing and I could easily cancel it later if I changed my mind. It was implied that it would help my application.

I probably shouldn't have been sold PPI due to previous medical conditions. I also was working in an industry where at that time, short of murdering someone or being struck off, I could have walked into a new job within weeks anywhere in the UK. My sick leave benefits had doubled by the time I'd applied for the loan also.

I did try to cancel my PPI, but was told I needed to do so in branch. Bit of a faff when you work long hours, but somewhere between 9 and 12 months after getting it, I finally managed to cancel it following 2 appointments in branch where they tried to convince me to keep it.

I'm a bit surprised by how much I'm getting back tbh given that I didn't pay more than a year of the premiums.

Hoping my H is as successful. He had a CC one sold online. But he shortly afterwards had a one year period of being unemployed (big redundancy package) without claiming because he didn't realise he had it.
