Received letter out of the blue, filled in questionnaire, they sent back acknowledgment, asked for address proof, then sent letter saying I was to be sent chq for £1k, received in 2 weeks. Very happy bunny. I am now on my 2nd claim. I have found Canada Square to be super great and I could not be happier with their handling.0

Hi All,
I have recently received notification, that my barclaycard PPI claim has been unsuccessful. I had a barclaycard credit card dating back to January 2002.I was self employed during this time, so i took out ppi to cover if i was ever off work through sickness etc.
BUT
A letter from barclaycard has since popped through my door, saying
that i have overpaid on the same credit card as PPI to the amount of £760. I phoned barclaycard to query this, and the lady said this was not a PPI offer.
Now i'm quite puzzled, as the credit card was paid off in full in 2008.
Do i take the offer or £760, or do i go to the FOS, with the ppi claim.
Any help or advice greatly appreiciated.
Thanks:)

Completely amazed!
As far as I was aware, I didn't ever have any PPI on anything. But received a questionnaire from MBNA a couple of weeks ago, advising that I *may* have been missold PPI on a credit card I took out in 2005.
Filled it in, sent it back, letter today (after 2 wks) advising complaint upheld, and £601 to be paid by cheque within 28 days!!
Totally amazed and over the moon!0 -
Just got my letter back from Canada Square with offer of £4100!! :j Thanks to MSE for all advice!0

What exactly does the letter say, if the account is closed and they are saying you overpaid PPI, do they say what they are doing about this?.
You need to find out what this means before you can take it further, ask why you only overpaid the amount they are saying and what does that mean regards the rest of the PPI you paid.0 -
Hi Amersall,
Thanks for replying to my post. The letter states as follows:
"Following a review of our records, we note that your Barclaycard account is in credit as a result of an overpayment you have made.
So that we can make this payment directly into your bank account, could you please contact us to confirm your bank details".
There is definately no mention of PPI, because the previous barclaycard letter stated that my ppi claim was unsuccessful.
Maybe barclaycard declines everyones PPI claim first time round.
And i do remember paying the credit card off in full in 2008.
Must be a solid reason behind their actions. I'm still going to take the money and run, and also send a new ppi claim to the FOS.

Philcontact Barclays and ask what the overpayment was, if this was PPI you need a breakdown of this, I think they may be playing crafty and just refunding the PPI now so they do not have to repay the interest and the 8%, try and get clarification before you go to FOS.

Hello there and apologies if I'm posting on the wrong thread etc, but has anyone had any experience with reclaiming PPI from London Scottish Finance? I know that they have entered Administration and the FSCS is now dealing with, but there isn't much mentioned on here about them! I have previously complained to them before and it was upheld, and now a form from FSCS has been completed, so not really holding my hopes up but just curious as to how anyone else has got on with them. Thanks x0

Did you receive a refund when it was upheld previously?, if you did then FSCS will not compensate unless you did not get all the redress initially.0
