Hi, great result. Do you mind me asking how long HSBC took to actually pay out? I've had my offer letter and sent it back to them, theyve advised there's a memo on my account to say 'pay the amount' but cant say when it will be paid

Charlie, they have agreed, they could do it the same day ..... HSBC playing the waiting game , chase them everyday until it is credited to your account, you seriously don't have to put up with this rubbish ???

Beggars belief how these idiot banks expect to get new customers

HSBC are acting like the other big banks ..... DELAYING TACTICS

Don't put up with it, phone them everyday until they pay you the money they stole from you
  • I Reclaimed PPi from two Natwest Loans. Totaling 2k. It was a fairly effortless process, simply called the number provided on MSE website, answered a couple of questions via telephone call and within the week received a "goodwill gesture" worth £76.55.

£60.06 was total refund of PPI Premium and associated interest paid to date and £20.26 Gross interest at statutory rate, less 20% tax for £4.12. So refund will be £76.55.

I took out the loans in 2007 and 2008 respectively.

I have yet to accept the offer, before I do I wanted to know if I could get more...?

On the letter I received from the PPi resolution person it says "I have been unable to confirm precisely what information you were given at the time you were given at the time you purchased the policy..." "so as goodwill gesture etc etc"

should I reject the offer, am I likely to get more?

THanks for your help once again

Although you've been offered a goodwill payment, the amounts are fully in line with FOS guidelines. Although they aren't admitting liability, they are paying what you would get anyway.
  • I have received a letter from natwest regarding 5 loans i took out with them, And was I was happy with how the ppi was sold and if not why. Now I was totally unaware that I had any ppi on any of my loans. I'm just wanting some advice on how to go about this please? How to approach the letter? What to say? Thanks in advance
  • I wasn't going to bother with any PPI claims as I have been in debt and entered into an IVA arrangement several years ago. I completed my IVA 2 years ago but I thought any refund would still have to go to my IVA pot, however from this website i learnt that as my IVA was completed that any refund would be made to me & that PPI was totally seperate to my debts.

So I've claimed away....Using the easy templates & step by step guides on this website I have managed to submit claims easily on my own without using any PPI claim companies.

I had loans with the Co-op Bank going back to 1997, luckily i still had copies of agreements ..on the 06/02/2013 i submitted a claim and on the 22/02/2013 was offered £6598

I'm not sure if the Co-op Bank are being extra fast with claims due there recent fine but can't believe this offer ... I've learnt from my past mistakes and avoid getting into any debt now, so now using this website to look up the best ISA accounts to save my money.

Thanks :money:and all the people who have submitted there stories of encouragement and advise !

I had been meaning to enter a PPI complaint for my partner and I for a while, we both had loans with LloydsTSB mine set up before we met and hers after.

Both of us were told (funnily enough by the same advisor in branch) that as our credit was very low, Lloyds would only give us the loans if we took out insurance to protect it. Being young and naive at the time, both of us took this as the truth. Since then through sites like this we have learnt that this wasn't.

I work for a company that gives me 6 months full and then 6 months half pay if I go off sick so the premiums wouldn't have covered me had I been ill and my girlfriend only works two days a week.

Anyway, I placed a complaint to Lloyds based on these factors and today we received offers on both, mine was for £1825 on a £3000 loan, my girlfriends £980 on a £3000 loan. We believe mine is for the full PPI amount + the 8% however hers appears to be a goodwill gesture. Should we continue to fight this as if they are upholding my complaint, surely hers should be the same as the complaint reasons were identical?

Depends on when the loans were taken out and the length of time you spread it over.
