With respect, you're not in a position to suggest that I 'feel' like I've been mis sold, patronising to say the least. The details of my complaint are personal, and I never asked for your opinion, thanks all the same.
In which case, why are you posting to an internet discussion site?
On average, the FOS declines around 2/3rds of complaints. I am sure all those people declined felt they had been mis-sold or had been done wrong. Until it is confirmed as a mis-sale it is just your opinion. You could be forgetting something pertinent. You could be misunderstanding the issues. If you are so certain you were mis-sold then why has it taken 20 years to raise it? You could be mis-sold but lack the evidence to support it. Or you may have the evidence but don't realise it (and having a go at the people on here that can help you isnt a good idea)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). First the good news...finally after requesting an extension to the time limit to respond, Cap One have upheld our complaint :j (only been waiting since August!)
Now the bad news...after returning the acceptance form (via recorded delivery) which was signed for over 2 weeks ago, I have just been informed they are working through a backlog and are only scanning in forms received at the start of Nov!!! So I will not receive my cheque until after Christmas!!! I think they should be made to pay additional interest on the waiting time for receipt of the settlement!!! :mad:Debt at Sept 2006 £63,500:eek:
Debt at Sept 2012 £24,400
DFD Dec 2012! (if PPI claims come in) !!

Interest is added to the point the cheque is issued. (bar 1-2 days for processing)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). In total I have submitted five PPI complaints mid October.
MBNA - upheld for a MBNA credit card taken out in 2006 and PPI cancelled 18 months later - £929.50. :T:T:T
Firstplus - upheld - on a loan taken out in 2006 and cashback received in 2011 for £5950. Original offer £4710 but then this would then increase my loan and monthly loan amount. Contacted FP and was informed there calculator was broken and when fixed I would then recieve a new offer. I have now received another acceptance letter from FP - new offer £3000 but .. surprise surprise... my loan has decreased and so has my monthly loan payments.:beer::beer:
Black Horse loans, both loans paid back early - 2 PPI complaints from 2004 - 2005 (upheld and offer is £1150):j:j:j and 2005 - 2006 - still awaiting decision.
Lastly Capital one - still awaiting decision and may have to wait another 4-5 weeks. Credit card taken out in 2002 - PPI added without my knowledge 2003!!
Thanks MSE - I used your templates and NO claims management group.0 -
I made a PPI claim of £3350 on a £12,000/24 month loan taken out in 2001 with Sainsbury's Bank using the standard letter from MSE. I posted the letter, completed claim template and copy of the original agreement to Sainsbury's Bank on 10th October 2012 and received a cheque back from them 1st December for £7331.03.
This PPI was missold to me. After being made redundant I was unable to make a claim and had been sold the overpriced "Gold cover" which was unsuitable. I had not been informed there were two other cheaper levels of cover. When I complained back in 2002 and demanded my money back they refused and said that the PPI premium was paid back first.
Sainsbury's Bank did me a favour as I have NEVER taken out any form of insurance since and saved myself a fortune. I would have been happy to have the original £3350 refunded but the added interest amount is much appreciated.
Thank you to MSE for giving me the confidence to make this claim.0 -
Last summer encouraged by a friends tale of success I sent in a claim to Lloyds TSB on behalf of my late husband's estate. I had no paperwork but a nice lady in the local branch used my account to trace his old one and gave me numbers of loans and cards that had or may have had PPI on them.
Via this website I filled in the forms as best I could - I didn't even know the amounts of the loans but I did recall something from years back about re financing I said that he wouldn't have taken out the PPI as he only accepted the re finance as we couldn't afford the original loan - firstly I got a holding letter, I chased by phone at the end of October and was untold the case was still under investigation but to cut a long story short - yesterday I got a letter offering me £20,000! Couldn't have come at a better time. Thanks MSE!0 -
Hi Everyone,
Just popped by to share my success.
After many heated conversations with Barclaycard and their stupid re work system, I have had my claim upheld!!:j:T
That's all 4 of my claims upheld with HSBC,Shop Direct and Barclays!! :j
Thank You for all your advice and support MoneySavingExpert
I urge anyone considering putting in a claim to do it yourself, it really is a simple process and even better when you reap the rewards of your money coming back!!:j:D:rotfl::T:):A0 -
It's the same letter. We only have 28 days to reject their rejection, and they say they can take 28 days to pay, so waiting that length of time is not an option. Was that what you meant?
Reply and reject the other one with the extra info you have and ask them to reconsider as they did not have the full reasons that you were mis sold initially, let them know that you are accepting the one that they upheld, when you sign the acceptance, make it clear on the form that you are rejecting the not upheld one and see what they say.0 -
Can any one let me know the turn around for Hsbc and there sucsesses on loan ppi. Sent mine off and recd acknowledgement on 01 nov ??
They have 8 weeks to give you a final decision, after this time (sometimes before) you should know if the mis sell has been upheld and if it is, when they expect to pay you, others who have had wins with HSBC can let you know more exact time scales.0 -
Did you keep a copy?
Curlywig do not have a good reputation judging by this forumappletree33 wrote: »Bit of a problem...
Not knowing much about PPI but being in debt repayment agreements I stupidly agreed to let Curlywig try to claim back some of my PPI. Two weeks later I cancelled that agreement as I realised how easy it was and that I could do it myself.
Success last week with a cheque from Egg for £280!!!
Failure this week as Curlywig have written denying ever receiving the letter I sent them.
What do I do?0
