PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi can you tell me how long you had to wait for Barclays and Egg, I have complaints in with both which are about six weeks old and wondering whether the 8 weeks is realistic. Can you also share what your argument was thank you.
I waited 8 weeks for both Egg and Barclays. My reasons for mis-sale with Barclays was that I have never asked for the PPI in to the first place. It was added to my overdraft account when I opened it, and I could not deselct the PPI option so it appeared compulsory to take the PPI with the overdraft (arranged online).
With Egg, it was much more simple than that. I complained that the PPI was front loaded, and the full cost of the PPI was not explained to me.
Hope this helps0 -
Hi, I'm in the process of trying to reclaim PPI from RBS but I don't see many mentions of them on here (haven't read all posts tho). Anyone on here had any success?? I took out my first loan back in 2000 and have refinanced four times. I'm hoping and praying I'm successful as I could really do with the cash!!0

Hi,
First ever post on a Forum, but had to post as I would never have been able to do this without the help of ML and this site.
Took out a First Plus loan in 1999, then took up 2 further advances in 2001 and 2003 and finally settled complete balance in 2004. Rang First Plus six weeks ago, they took the complaint over the phone, had a letter offering PPI refund plus interest of £22,059!!! OMG The cheque arrived yesterday, can't believe it, I didn't even fill in any forms, so anybody with a First Plus account check and get that claim in.
Good Luck

You must be my good luck charm I rang Egg this lunchtime as my eight weeks is up on Monday to be told they have agreed to my complaint. oh my god!!!!!! The front loaded amount of £3695 however I have no idea how much they are paying out need to wait for the letter. The debt is currently with Arrow and they are awaiting for them to confirm how much I still owe, I don't believe I will see the money myself but this should pay this part of my debt off and I am soooooo happy. This could take up to 18 month off my dmp. Thank you everyone on this site. This is the first complaint I put in and first complaint with resolution........ :T:T:T:T:T:T:T0 -
hi i would also like to thank for all the info and advice on here, i put in 2 claims for my partner's credit cards, we have heard back from hsbc and offered 1,03.00 to pay off debt and remaining amount of £678.00 was paid into his account, the whole process took about 4 weeks.
capital one though have taken their time, we had 1 letter after about 3 weeks saying they they were dealing with it, then about 2-3 weeks later another letter saying his signature didn't match their records so could we provide copies of either passport or driving license (which we did and posted back the very next day) that was about 5 weeks ago now and still nothing. my partner said he will try ringing them next week so hopefully hear back very soon.
has anyone else had problems with capital one?
anyway thanks agin for all advicehave now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving0 -
Hello,
Wonder if you can help?
I made a claim for my Capital One credit card. They have upheld my complaint, but have not given me the 8% interest. I have a look around the MSE site and cannot see this being mentioned before. The exact wording is
We are only required to offer the additional 8% interest when an account would have generated a credit balance had PPI not have been charged, if we are not offering any 8% interest this is because we do not believe your account would ever have been in credit had PPI not been charged.
Now it is not a huge amount but this seems a little unfair. Should I just accept the money, or should I complain.
Thanks

Hi,
Had anyone had any luck claiming back PPI from a DCA? I mean when a loan was passed to a DCA part way through, thus terminating the agreement with the bank. My bank only want to refund the PPI that I paid until the loan was passed to the DCA!!
Thanks0
