If any/all apply to you then put the claim in. if you win redress they work out what they owe and the interest.0 -
Took the plunge and rang First Plus to ask for some information on an old loan I had with them, which I settled early about three years ago. The lady was really helpful and asked if my call was regarding PPI?. As I had no paper work my question was what type of PPI was it? She said I had a Single premium and that I had money owing to me having checked my details. She said I would hear from them in the next week or so with a figure. She said she was unable to give me a sum, only to say I had paid 45 payments of £55 approx of PPI. I am shocked at how simple it was. the call was less than 5 mins. I'm not celebrating until I see it in black and white. does this mean I will get back 45 x £55.00 = £2475 or Is there any added interest? Many thanks for giving me the confidence to claim.
You will get the whole PPI amount back, as you settled this early, they will have given you a rebate of the PPI, the remaining PPI was paid back to them by you in the settlement figure.
When you win redress they take the rebate back and you get the whole PPI amount back with the interest and 8%.
Looks like a tidy amount to come back :T:T:T0 -
Hi all i m looking for some advise please about ppi on a credit card .
I have claimed my ppi back on a card i had with yorkshire bank/ clydesdale bank from 1995 until i closed it down in 2010 , i was turned down by the bank and sent it to FOS.
Last week i found out from fos they had advised clydesdale to up hold my claim , wonderful news however they are only going back to 2000 as they claim they have no statements before that date , i have no paperwork to show any premiums payed.
Has anyone had any success claiming ppi when the bank says they have no statements
? Any help would be appeciated, this would be my first success with FOS thanks to this wonderful site
Thanks Dave
Without statements I am afraid they will not go back further, you could ask if they could do a refund of the average PPI from the start date to the date that they have paid you to, this may not work but you could ask.0 -
Can I ask how long it took for your rbs from start to finish? I am on week 5 at the moment.
Thank you
for my credit card claim,I didn't even have to write to them,it
was just a phone call,I wish they were all like that..
best of luck,or you could give them a quick call and remind them they have
8 weeks to complete ,or you could register a complaint to the FOS,this may
focus their minds, and they may get a penalty,of course you wouldn't
want that to happen !!0 -
I sent a speculative letter to Lloyds TSB in February 2012 with a loan number which I knew I had paid PPI on, dating back to 2001. With the letter went the standard FSA form, with a lot of information missing.
Eight weeks later I'm offered the princely sum of £16,200, which was considerably more than the original loan. Two weeks after that the cheque arrived. Now I'm debt free. I've no idea how they worked the amount out, but I've taken it!
My advice to anyone thinking of claiming is do it, do it now, even if you're in doubt. It cost me a stamp.0 -
Hi
can anyone help?
I posted my letter on behalf of my OH to Capital one, and got a letter back to say give them 7 weeks to check things out. that was up this tuesday and I have heard nothing.
what do I do now? should I carry on waiting,or should I write again? He wont phone as he hates talking on the phone.

I sent of my partner's PPi claim for Halifax at the beginning of May. He received a lovely letter yesterday. They are repaying him £5100 within the next 28days.
Will definately be coming in handy for a new car and holiday spends.
Very happy

I'm in exactly the same position. They wrote to me stating they needed 7 weeks which was also up on Tuesday. No letter so phoned them and was told they had written to me the day before to ask for copy of passport or driving licence as my signature didn't match! The person I spoke to told me to ignore that letter as she verified my ID over the phone and said she would get my complaint worked on that day. Phoned them today and letter gone out to me defending! Not sure what the point of asking for ID was if they were going to turn me down - could have saved themselves a stamp! Waiting for letter and will go to FOS. Not too bothered as it wouldn't have been much but will go as far as I can with it! Good luck with yours!Success so far:
Bank charges refund plus interest: over £6000 :j
Mortgage PPI refund plus interest: over £9000 :j

Oh dear I hope you have better luck with the FOS. I will probably wait until after the bank holiday weekend and try and get him to ring. I have no idea how much ours will work out to be, as I only have 1 statment with the detials on we destroyed the rest.0
