Got my MBNA cheque this morning! I think they've been super quick.0

What were you reclaiming:
PPI on GM credit card.
Who was the provider:
HFC
How much did you get back:
Just over £14,000.
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:
One letter and a questionnaire HFC sent us. Think it took about 8 or 9 weeks from sending the letter until we received the letter last Friday upholding our claim. Acceptance letter got sent on Saturday so hope the money will be in our account soon although it does say it can take up to 28 days.
It took us a long time to get our fingers out and do thisand am so glad we finally got around to it.
Same old same old since 20080 -

hi everybody
you think that the banks etc are bad just wait till you get to telling H.M.R.C about your interest you have been paid.WHAT A SHAMBLES you try to ring them and you hang on ages and get a person who doesnt really want to talk to you they will write so they say. WHAT TRASH.
SO YOU WRITE TO THEM AND THEY IGNORE YOU ,you try and explain to them that you WANT TO PAY THEM BUT HEY NO YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ,THEY NEED TO WRITE TO YOU.
if martin has anytime on his hands could he please go and sort H.M.R.C OUT PLEASE.
all we want to do is pay PLEASE.
thanks for your time i know its probably the wrong forum so sorry for that AND THE BEST OF LUCK YOU WILL NEED IT THEY SAY PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE BUT BELIEVE ME YOU ARE GONNA NEED MORE THAN PATIENCE WITH THAT LOT.0 -

Had a letter today as follows:
After considering the evidence and information available,i have not found sufficient evidence to agree with your allegations. As such I am unable to uphold your complaint.
As part of my review, I have considered whether you were eligible for the policy and whether the policy was suitable for you. I have also taken into account each of the concerns you raised with us in your complaint and I can confirm that I did not identify any other issues when reviewing your file.
Having completed all of these steps, I went on to look at your complaint as a whole to ensure that we acted fairly towards you in relation to the sale of ppi, giving appropriate weight and balanced consideration to all available evidence.
In order to address the concerns you have raised,I have reviewed all the available sales evidence. I have established that you applied for your C C PPI on 3rd November 1998. To further assists I have taken the following into Consideration.
Your complaint letter and questionnaire
Internal sales notes
Our knowledge of our sales process and documentation at the time
Your sales documentation
You purchased the policy you would have been provided with sales documents that quoted the cost of ppi. It should also be noted that explaining the cost of ppi is a key piece of the process and I am of the opion that this was brought to your attention at the time of sale. I can confirm that it has never been a requirement to take out ppi in order for an application to be accepted.
If you do not agree please contact me. If you remain unhappy contact Fos'
Just going to phone them will post again0 -

Thanks Sheel,
I have only been on this site for a short while. I'm not one of the important guys like Di, amersall, cappo and moneyineptitude, but I do feel it's important to encourage people to feel free to ask questions and let us know how they are progressing with their complaints/claims as we all need a little encouragment. If it hadn't been for the amazing guys on here(that's all of you) I would have given up at the first hurdle, or maybe not even tried at all;)0 -
Following on from my last post. The letter from Barclays arrived this morning along with a cheque for £1800.00. Started my claim on March 13th. So bang on the 8 week time scale. Good work Barclays.
Nearly at the end of my claims now. Just a Natwest platinum card and 2 claims that have been with the FOS since December.
Ppi returned
MBNA £25k
Direct line (rbs) £8k
Barclays £1800
Thanks to this site for the knowledge and know how !
