Could anyone please help with my question:-
After just writing one letter downloaded from this website 7 weeks ago, we have just received an offer of £15,713.41 :j from RBS regarding our Mint credit card which we have been paying PPI for many years (probably since the mid 1990's).
We have a balance on the card of just over £2,000.00 (the card has a £10,000.00 credit limit). They said they will clear the balance on the card, but haven't said how they will return the remainder.
We have returned the form to RBS and said we will except the offer made to us and have requested they return the rest to us either by cheque or depositing directly into the bank.
Also they said that interest will be paid less the tax, but they haven't given a breakdown of the interest so we are not sure if the interest has even been added to the offer figure. Has anyone got any comments on this please?
They said in their offer that they will endeavour to settle our claim within 28 working days, but I have heard it sometimes takes a lot longer!
Thanks for any helpful comments please!
Well done on your success.
Usually they will refund towards any balance, and then forward a cheque payment of the remaining left to you.
I would though contact them to get this rectified.
Also at the same time, ask if they can send the detailed breakdown of calculations, this though would be something they will send with the cheque of the remaining of what is due to come back to you, but no harm in asking.;)
That is correct of 28 days, this is therefore normally 28 days from when they received your acceptance slip, if you receive nothing by then, I would again contact them, but sometimes it can be dealt with earlier than 28 days too.
Fingers crossed.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

My offer from RBS was for just over £12000. When they quoted that figure they told me that they would take tax from the interest, so I was expecting less. However when the cheque arrived with a breakdown of the calculations the quote they had given me was with the tax already taken off.
I also received the cheque within a week, unfortunately it took complaining to the FOS and a wait of nearly two years to finally get the money but once they had agreed to pay it the process was very quick.
Hope you get your money soon and congratulations0 -
I was wondering if anyone could advise me what to do next?
I stupidly put a complaint in for miss selling of the ppi on my barclaycard account without first getting the paperwork to back it up. I knew I had it added to my account but couldnt remember asking for it or the process of how it came about. So on my initial letter to them I stated that they advised me to get it as it was some 8 years ago??? thats what I assumed happened as i couldn't actually remember.
They have now got back to me saying that " we have identified that my application for PPI was submitted by post. At the point of applying for PPI, as no advice was given the process required your customer to select the specific type of cover they required"
"we are satisfied that the information presented, accurately described the scope of the policy, and was sufficient to provide them with all of the information necessary"
as to which they are unable to uphold my claim.
Can I do anything about this? is it worth me asking for proof of this information or should I just give up and except this failure for PPI??
Any advice would be gratefully recieved thanks0 -

Filed the complaint on 14th march, quick phone call today and a Cheeky little £2519 coming my way, lets see how long the cheque takes....:D
I found politely phoning Lloyds every 3-4 days seemed to work wonders, I was always polite and explained was just seeing how claim was going.
Total reclaimed is just over £4K now, time to take the wife and boy on holiday...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
