I haven't been on this forum for over a year (when I successfully claimed PPI from the Halifax) but I just had to get back in touch to let everyone know how easy it is to claim back PPI and please, please don't use any of the companies that charge you 30%+ of your claim..
I sent a standard Martin claim letter to MBNA to claim back PPI on my credit card posted the letter 4th April 2012 got a letter back saying they were investigating the claim and then on the 25th April got another letter saying they were upholding the claim and that I'd receive a cheque for - get this - £11,700!!! Within the next 28 days - Martin, you are an absolute gem thank you so very, very much :T That's over £12.5k of successful PPI claims!!0 -

A strange thing has happened with my PPI refund from LLoyds TSB?!
I have been waiting for a cheque or a bank transfer, but I have seen neither. Not surprised though as I have only been waiting for 4 weeks so far. I keep thinking that this will take some time and I know that some people have been waiting a VERY long time!
Yesterday though when I logged into my internet banking, my existing loan balance had changed from just over £7,000 to now showing just over £900!?!?!?
I have recieved no letter, so I don't know if this is how they are paying me back, or if this is just an error!? Either way, if this is how it is going to be then I am more than happy!

I had two loans from Lloyds in the past one which I paid off and one which was currently still active.
I was concerned I might get rejected after putting a claim in as I thought it would take a long time to fill out the paperwork and get something back.
But the forms Martin has on his site were great I filled out two separate claims but posted them at the same time.
Within 5 days I received a letter saying that they will be looking at my case and will be in touch within 8 weeks.
Time passed and I forgot about it but in the 7th week I received a letter stating that they were going to refund a total of £8700 for one of the loans I had paid off and the money was in the bank the same day I got the letter. That was only because I still have a Lloyds TSB account.
Then a couple of days later I got another letter stating I would get £2600 back for the loan I have currently which is great. This took longer to come through because it was active and they have to re adjust the monthly amounts and interest etc and then I too got the amount paid into the account. For this one the interest was paid into my account straight away then the rebate afterwards.
So in total I received £11300 which I wouldn’t have received back if I hadn’t have claimed.
I claimed as the cover did not cover me at the time as the first loan was after I just graduated and was in my first job and the sales woman said if I don’t have savings to cover the loan I would be in difficulties as it was a large loan and she would not be confident in loaning the money to me if I did not take the insurance.
The second loan was taken out when I had just started a new job and was only there for one month and she said that I would be covered even though your not covered unless you have been in over 6 months of employment.
Over all I am pleased that it has been resolved now and got back what I am owed.

Hi, this is how Lloyds do it if you have the loan still running.
They do the calculation and lower your amount left to pay.
They then adjust your monthly balance without the PPI insurance on. If someone’s account is in arrears those are paid off with the loan amount and then whatever is left is either used to pay off whatever the rest of the loan is or the lump sum is then paid into your account if you’re a Lloyds TSB customer or a cheque is sent out.
What you will notice is that amount from £900 go up again not sure if this is the new interest after the adjustment is then your new outstanding amount is shown on your internet banking.
You can call up and ask when it is all going to be completed and how much you will get if you have not had a letter yet.
Hope this helps0 -
lickoloctupus;52857041I have received a letter from the Ombudsman's adjudicator for my two claims v Marks and Spencer's store card from 1995 and my Personal reserve from 1999 and the subsequent claim against the companies who ran the PPI) rejected on the grounds that
1) It was not missold as it took until 2007 for me to cancel it.
2) It was declared seperately on my monthly statement.
3) I filled in the forms myself.
4) The wording on the form was easy to understand.
Is there anything I can do now or do I give up?[/QUOTE]
Hi there - I received a similar rejection yesterday and am also fuming! I will be replying to disagree but need to review the matter again - I think there is a 14 day deadline to reply - other than that I am also stuck x0 -

What reasons did you give in your claim for mis-selling?0
